Marvel and ‘Star Wars’ actress Ming-Na Wen will be getting her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett star Ming-Na Wen is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after decades of work in film and TV.

Ming-Na Wen, known to Star Wars fans as Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, is getting her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Variety broke the news via Twitter, noting that the ceremony will take place May 30.

Wen has been a consistent fixture in Hollywood for decades, appearing early on in 1993’s The Joy Luck Club and 1994’s terrible-but-awesome Street Fighter adaptation starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia. And soon after, even young kids knew her name as the voice behind the tenacious Mulan in the 1998 Disney-animated musical.

As her talent and reputation became further recognized, Wen secured an incredibly prolific career in television, appearing in a variety of hit shows including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, ER, Boston Legal, Two and a Half Men, Adventure Time, Nashville, and Fresh Off the Boat. If Disney fans don’t know her from Star Wars and the litany of other series in which she’s appeared, they may recognize her as Melinda May/The Cavalry in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

What’s next for Wen? Hopefully, more Star Wars. Last year at Fan Expo Boston, Wen cryptically commented on the chances for a second season of The Book of Boba Fett, saying, “I never count my chickens before they hatch, because in this business, you just never know. But, knock on wood, they’ll be announcing that soon.”

Director Robert Rodriguez added fuel to the same fire, saying recently that he knows what’s next for Boba Fett in the Star Wars universe — and fans know Fennec Shand is never far from Fett’s side. Wen also said earlier this month on a podcast that she hopes to get her Disney bestie Yvette Nicole Brown in on the action by bringing Brown’s character from the animated LEGO Star Wars series into live action.

All that’s left to parse is exactly where Wen’s star will be placed on the Walk of Fame. This matters little to those who don’t live in Los Angeles, but Hollywood residents can only hope it’s not outside the CVS at Hollywood and Argyle, as the crowded ceremony makes shopping for travel-size lotion and late birthday cards just impossible. Congratulations, Ming-Na Wen!
