What is the ‘great chicken war’ TikTok trend?

And now, we've seen everything.

Anyone with the TikTok app downloaded on the smartphone will have heard, seem, or come across some kind of content featuring the ‘great chicken war.’ But what exactly is it? Well, the so-called ‘chicken war’ is a TikTok trend that’s far different to the stereotypical dance challenges or weird food concoctions that will most certainly have you vomiting. Anyone seeking to participate in the ‘chicken war’ should upload a video of themselves and their chickens (owned and raised) to prove themselves worthy in battle.

It’s not so much an all-out war as it is some friendly competition as chicken owners show off their flocks and boast having the toughest pollos out there. Although the title of the trend might suggest differently, there is no cruelty to animals in these videos; quite the opposite, actually, as it’s all about praising our fine feathered friends.

The trend essentially asks participants to showcase their flock and assess how suitable their chickens would be for battle… hypothetically speaking, of course. We’re not cage-fighting with any hens.

It was content creator Dylan Bezjack who started the whole thing, who filmed himself being followed by some chickens, then joking that they could “kick some a**.” Soon enough, the video went viral, clocking in at over a million views and an excess of 350,000 likes. It then became a trend for fellow TikTok users to upload their chickens, suggesting that they’re ‘stronger’ than Dylan’s flock.

No chickens were harmed in the making of these videos, although some users might have hurt their pride after discovering how much fierce poultry exists as stiff competition out there.
