California woman says she ordered Dutch Bros coffee with cookie dough chunks. Then she looks closer at the bottom of her cup: ‘I drank that’

A California woman says a stop at Dutch Bros ended with a discovery she never expected. After finishing a coffee topped with cookie dough chunks, she claims to have found what appeared to be a dental crown at the bottom of her cup.

TikTok creator Koy (@koyahna) shared a video showing what she said she found after purchasing the drink at a Dutch Bros drive-thru location in Bakersfield. In the clip, she displays the object and says she discovered it only after drinking most of the beverage.

Koy later posted a follow-up video addressing many of the questions she received. She said she did not return to the Bakersfield location because she had already traveled to the Lake Tahoe area when she discovered the object.

Koy added in her follow-up post, “If you know Bakersfield and you know California, then you know going back into Bakersfield, no way,” she said, explaining that heavy Friday traffic and traveling with four children made the return trip impractical.

Instead, Koy said she left a voicemail that evening. According to her, a representative planned to return her call the following Monday. She also responded to viewers who questioned whether the object could have been her own. “I’ve got all my teeth in my mouth,” she said.

Koy then clarified that she believes the item was a dental crown rather than an entire tooth. “Yes, it’s a crown, not a tooth. It’s like the top of someone’s tooth,” she said.

Some commenters suggested the object may have originated before the ingredients reached the coffee stand. One person, who identified themselves as a Dutch Bros employee in Tennessee, said the cookie dough pieces arrive from a supplier in sealed bags inside sealed boxes.

The commenter explained that employees transfer the packaged pieces into freezer containers before refilling smaller containers used during drink preparation. Based on that process, the employee said they believed, if the claim is accurate, the object would more likely have entered the product before it reached the store rather than during drink preparation.

Another commenter questioned that theory, writing that even if the crown had originated at a manufacturing facility, they could not understand how a dental crown would end up in cookie dough during production. Koy also responded to viewers, denying that she staged the incident.

As of publication, Dutch Bros has not issued a public statement addressing Koy’s TikTok videos. No local Bakersfield news outlet appears to have independently reported on the incident.
