A Domino’s customer was left questioning reality after opening two pizza boxes and discovering that the pizza labeled as a large appeared smaller than the medium. Christopher, who posts on TikTok as @sdsocal, shared the unusual comparison in a video that showed a woman opening both boxes side by side, prompting viewers to debate whether the pizzas had been mixed up or whether something else was going on.
The pizza in the large box was smaller than the medium pizza in the smaller box, he stated. A red text overlay in the video read, “isnt a large pizza supposed to be bigger than a medium pizza or are we not on earth.” The video showed a woman opening the two closed boxes on a table.
Christopher shared a receipt image in a comment. The receipt listed a 14-inch hand-tossed pizza and a 12-inch hand-tossed pizza plus boneless wings and parm bites. After listed coupons and discounts, the total came to $31.
Other customers post photos questioning Domino’s pizza sizes
In the video, the woman said one pizza was her free one and they upgraded to a large for $3 plus $3.50 for extra cheese. She pointed to the other as the $7.99 pizza, or $10.99 in their area. An off-screen voice asked which one was the large, and she pointed to the bigger box. Domino’s customers have reported various surprises with their orders, such as when a woman received a savory item instead of the icing she ordered for cinnamon bites.
Some viewers commented that the pizzas were clearly mixed up and that it happens. Another wrote that the large was in a medium box. A third commenter claimed the boxes were switched before filming and called it fake. One commenter quoted the question from the video and wrote that the noticeably larger pizza was the large one. Another stated that Domino’s is among the lowest quality pizzas out there.
A Reddit user on r/Dominos posted under the title “Did I get Shrinkflation’ed” that they ordered the $9.99 Any Pizza deal with extra Philly steak and extra spinach on a hand-tossed pizza. They asked if they were tripping or if the crust was huge, adding it felt like half the pizza was just crust and the toppings looked skimpy even after paying for extras.
The photo attached to that post showed a pizza with spinach, cheese, and meat toppings inside an open box, with one piece already taken out. Pizza orders have previously sparked online debate, such as when a California woman found something alive in her Little Caesars pizza.
Another Reddit user on the same subreddit posted under the title “Shrinkflation at Domino’s.” They wrote it was an 11 inch “medium” Domino’s pizza purchased that day in Southern California and attached a photo. The photo showed a pepperoni and banana pepper pizza in an open box with a yellow measuring tape laid across it. The tape appeared to stretch from one side of the pizza to the other.
Christopher later commented on his TikTok with the receipt photo. He wrote, “for those saying I switched the pizzas before the video can clearly read the toppings and sizes I ordered vs what I got lol.”
