Woman agrees to meet her Hinge date who was ready to ‘trick’ on her. Then says he doesn’t use Apple Pay and leaves her with the bill: ‘wants a second date’

A TikTok video posted by Eznae under the handle @eznaey has drawn wide attention after capturing a conversation during what she described as an average Hinge date experience. The video has gained 359,700 views and 36,700 likes.

In the caption of the post, Eznae wrote, “He made me cover the bill for flat iron and also wants a second date, what’s going on in 2026?” She added the hashtags #brokey and #hinge, along with a note about her Twitch account.

The TikTok footage shows Eznae, wearing glasses and a black top, unwrapping and eating a burger in a restaurant while an off-screen man discusses the bill with her. She looks toward the camera at several points during the exchange.

Eznae said in the video, “Get your money up. Can you just get your money up, please?” The man responded by asking why she would say that to him. She replied, “Say what? Are you gonna-” before he continued speaking.

The man then said she had told him the day before that she was going to ‘trick on’ him. He asked if she was mistaken and stated that she had told him TikTok was paying her well and that she wanted to trick on him. Eznae questioned, “Me?” and the man answered, “Yes.” 

Eznae then said, “This must be AI. This must be AI.” She asked why he would tell a girl to go on a date to White City Westfield, a shopping center, if he did not have any money. The man replied that he had left all his money at home.

She asked whether he had Apple Pay. The man stated, “No, I have a Nokia brick.” Eznae looked toward the camera with an expression that appeared to show disbelief as the exchange continued.

According to the video, Eznae used a fork to eat her burger while responding to the man’s comments. She described the overall experience in the post as an average Hinge date. The man’s behavior fits a pattern of disputes over date expenses, as seen when another man told his date he wouldn’t pay the check if she wouldn’t sleep with him. 

Several viewers left comments reacting to the exchange. One commenter wrote that the video had to be a skit. Another stated that “trick on me, as a man, is INSANE.” This kind of date dilemma has played out elsewhere, such as when a Houston woman ordered extra food on a first date he refused to pay for, leading her to cancel it. 

A different commenter focused on one of Eznae’s lines and wrote, “‘Can you just get your money up’ is absolute mind gamesss.” Others offered suggestions for how the situation could have been handled, with one saying to just take the food to another table and let him figure himself out, and another writing, “Pay ur half and leave him deya.”

Some commenters discussed the tone of the conversation. One asked why people were not acknowledging the way she was speaking to him and said she was so rude, questioning why anyone would want to pay for food after that.

In a reply to that comment, another user wrote that he asked her out and then she ended up paying, adding that there were many things that could have been done to avoid the mess and that she was not rude at all but was vocal.
