Mark the date, Bruce Wayne fans, for it looks as though Batman: Arkham Knight— the final chapter in Rocksteady’s pixelated take on The Caped Crusader — is poised to launch across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on June 2nd, 2015.

News comes by way of Warner Bros., who took to the rooftops in order to light up the Bat-Signal and confirm the date — well, the company posted the announcement through Twitter, but the Bat-Signal sounds way cooler, right?

Initially slated to launch this fall, Batman: Arkham Knight was pushed back to allow Rocksteady that extra window of time to hone and perfect this conclusive release. This means that the studio has had over three years to develop the threequel, following the release of Arkham City in 2011.

Speaking of which, the third entry into Rocksteady’s critically adorned open-world franchise will take place a full year after the events of its predecessor. Promising to host Batman at the “very peak” of his powers, Batman: Arkham Knight will see The World’s Greatest Detective go toe to toe with an array of villains, including Two Face, Harley Quinn and the titular and wholly original Arkham Knight — a nemesis exclusive to Rocksteady’s universe.

In addition, the upcoming release will also introduce ardent fans to the Batmobile, which is making its first appearance in the series. Billed as much more than just a gimmick, players will be able to take full advantage of Bruce Wayne’s automobile/tank to navigate through the streets of Gotham city — an area that is said to be five times bigger than the open-world setting found in Arkham City.

Batman: Arkham Knight is set to release on June 2nd, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and is currently available to pre-order through the game’s official site.
