While we already know mostly what to expect, here are 8 things we hope to see over the weekend, from footage from our most-anticipated superhero projects to information about a beloved galaxy far, far away…

Late last month, NBC abruptly cancelled Hannibal. Since then, showrunner Bryan Singer has been shopping the series around various networks, and while Netflix and Amazon have reportedly passed on picking up the psychologically intense show, Fuller insists that there is still hope. NBC may have cancelled the show, but the network did NOT cancel its SDCC panel. On Saturday at 5:00 PM, Bryan Fuller, producer Martha De Laurentiis and the cast will take the stage to preview the rest of the season and answer questions. Hopefully, they arrive with good news about the show’s future.

Moon and Source Code director Duncan Jones has been working on a live-action Warcraft film for some time now, and even brought some teaser footage to SDCC last year. Legendary Pictures has already set up some Warcraft armor displays around the convention, and Jones will be part of the studios’ panel on Saturday from 2:30 to 3:30. Now that he’s had time to perfect the film’s extensive special effects, we’re hoping he shows up with the first bit of official footage.

While we’re still chomping at the bit for any and all news regarding Star Wars: The Force Awakens, another project heading toward our galaxy at lightspeed is the series’ first spinoff film, Rogue One, directed by Gareth Edwards. Not much is yet known about the film, other than it’ll center on a group of Rebel soldiers tasked with stealing the Death Star plans before the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy will be hosting a one-hour Star Wars panel on Friday night at 5:30, and while much of the talk will likely be directed toward Episode VII, we’re hoping the duo shed some light on Rogue One as well.

Wait, what are we talking about? Forget about Rogue One, what we REALLY want to see is some more footage from The Force Awakens! After all, we’ve only seen two teaser trailers for the film, and have yet to even get the entire plot or see returning cast members Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher. Even the first official images of the Skywalker twins would be enough to satiate our appetites for now, but more footage would be a definite plus.

Warner Brothers is expected to have a big presence this year, as they’re bringing some of their most anticipated projects to Hall H on Saturday morning at 10:30. Among the films scheduled are The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and, of course, Batman V Superman. We’ll get to that superhero face-off in a minute, but would be wrong not to at least mention the second of next year’s big DC projects: Suicide Squad. David Ayer is still filming the hotly-anticipated villain team-up, and while the Squad isn’t officially on WB’s schedule, we’d love for the cast – or even just Jared Leto’s Joker – to make a surprise appearance and show off a bit of footage or glimpses at how actors like Margot Robbie or Will Smith will bring their characters to life.

20th Century Fox has kept the details of its Saturday night panel highly secretive, but are expected to bring Deadpool, Fantastic Four, and X-Men: Apocalypse to the Hall H stage from 5:45 to 7:30 that night. Director Bryan Singer has been actively teasing his next X-Men film on social media, and while we’ve seen several glimpses of some of the film’s mutants, we have yet to see Oscar Isaac as the titular baddie. Hopefully we get at least an image of him as the formidable blue-skinned mutant this weekend.

Warner Brothers impressed Hall H attendees last year with a panel specifically geared toward its various DC television adaptations, and are expected to do so again this year when they take the stage on Saturday night from 8:00 to 11:00. Arrow, The Flash, Gotham, and Supergirl are all expected to be featured, and we hope to learn more about two other upcoming projects, Legends of Tomorrow and Blackbirds (the Teen Titans series in development at TNT) as well. Both series are still in early stages of development and aren’t expected to arrive until 2016, but some information on their development would be a welcome addition to an already exciting panel.

For two years now, Zack Snyder has rocked the halls of Hall H by first revealing in 2013 that Batman would be joining Superman on the big screen, and then showing off footage from that team-up movie the following year. This year, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is expected to be front and center at WB’s Saturday morning panel. Costumes and merchandise are already scattered around SDCC, so the buzz is already building. Now, all we need is a clip or a new trailer from the film (with our first glimpse at Wonder Woman or Aquaman in action, perhaps?) to tide us over until it arrives in March.

The marketing blitz for 20th Century Fox’s Daredevil film has been ramping up in the last few weeks, likely because the fan-favorite Merc with the Mouth is making his way to SDCC for the studio’s Hall H panel. Ryan Reynolds has been actively and effectively promoting the film on Twitter, and now he has the chance to blow all of our socks off with Deadpool’s first trailer. Filming is now complete, and with the film’s February release date quickly approaching (meaning no chance of an SDCC appearance next year), now’s the perfect time to give the fans what they want.

DC fans have been hoping for Warner Brothers to “Unite the Seven” ever since the first image of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman was released, and all eyes are on the studio to finally deliver on that promise this weekend, as rumor has it that the seven members of the Justice League will finally unite on stage during WB’s Hall H panel. We’ve already seen images of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman, and know who’s playing The Flash and Cyborg. All that’s left to do is finally reveal who’s playing Green Lantern (and put those lingering Chris Pine rumors to rest). With Marvel sitting this year’s convention out, this is WB’s time to finally show the naysayers that their plans for a DC Comics shared cinematic universe is worth getting excited over.
