JR Bourne And Jeri Ryan Join Arrow Season 4

Oliver Queen is sure to have his hands full when Arrow returns this fall. Not only does he have to find a way to repair his tattered vigilante image after the events of last season, but he'll be facing a handful of new foes this time around, including Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), Anarky (Alexander Calvert), and Baron Blitzkrieg (Jimmy Akingbola). And, as if that weren't enough, he'll be facing off with a metahuman early into season four as well.

Oliver Queen is sure to have his hands full when Arrow returns this fall. Not only does he have to find a way to repair his tattered vigilante image after the events of last season, but he’ll be facing a handful of new foes this time around, including Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), Anarky (Alexander Calvert), and Baron Blitzkrieg (Jimmy Akingbola). And, as if that weren’t enough, he’ll be facing off with a metahuman early into season four as well.

Today, Arrow gained two new cast members: Teen Wolf and UnREAL actor JR Bourne and Star Trek: Voyager alum Jeri Ryan. Bourne will take on the role of Double Down, a gambler-turned-villain, while Ryan will take on the role of Jessica Danforth, a friend of the Queen family whose “political ambitions will place her in the crosshairs of a menacing antagonist.”

Double Down

Bourne will show up in the season’s third episode and may amount to nothing more than a villain-of-the-week. However, Double Down is a member of The Flash’s rogues gallery, so there’s always the chance that he could make the jump to Arrow‘s super-powered sister show and face off with the Scarlet Speedster at some point. In the comics, Double Down was a gambler named Jeremy Tell, who was attacked by a deck of cursed cards after killing its owner. The cards became embedded in his skin, appearing as tattoos, and could be used as weapons.

As for Ryan’s character, she’ll debut in episode four, and the “menacing antagonist” she’ll go up against is most likely Damien Darhk. Anarky will make his debut in that episode as well, and was previously described as “a freelance criminal willing to do whatever it takes to impress a potential employer.” We’re guessing he goes after Jessica Danforth for Darhk.

Of course, that’s all speculation for now. With Arrow‘s fourth season heading into production, we’ll hopefully hear more in the coming weeks. In the meantime, let us know how you feel about these two new casting developments in the comments below.

Arrow will return for its fourth season on October 7th, 2015 on the CW.
