When Snyder announced the film two years ago at Comic-Con, he quoted directly from the novel, sending the crowd into a frenzy. If you’re familiar with the novels, then you will appreciate the various nods seen in the trailers and images released so far, including Batman’s costume and a single shot that pays homage to the cover of The Dark Knight Returns.
