Marvel Brings Back ’90s X-Men Theme For ResurrXion Trailer

It really does feel like we're at the dawn of a mutant renaissance, doesn't it? Now that Inhumans vs. X-Men is behind us, Marvel is ready to take the world by storm with a veritable arsenal of ambitious X-Men titles, and has dropped a new trailer in celebration of ResurrXion.

It really does feel like we’re at the dawn of a mutant renaissance, doesn’t it? Now that Inhumans vs. X-Men is behind us, Marvel is ready to take the world by storm with a veritable arsenal of ambitious X-Men titles, and has dropped a new trailer in celebration of ResurrXion.

By now, you’ve probably already heard that the aforementioned initiative will include ten titles, all of which are either new or beginning new story arcs, possibly with new writers and artists. Said books include: X-Men Gold, X-Men Blue, Generation X, Weapon X, Iceman, Jean Grey, Cable, Old Man Logan, All-New Wolverine and Astonishing X-Men.

From what we can tell, this family of periodicals will have something for everybody. Whether it be a grizzled Logan battling a deranged Hulk in Old Man Logan, the original team lineup coming together in X-Men Blue or a very 1990s-centric group that will be seen in the relaunching of Astonishing X-Men, rest assured that there will not be a dull moment in this corner of the Marvel Universe for the foreseeable future.

As for the trailer itself, it shows us covers and interior artwork sampled from the above titles as well as stating the creative teams working on each. But what I found to be especially cool was the choice to use the theme song from X-Men: The Animated Series from the ’90s, which created countless new fans, yours truly included.

Although the first of these X-Men books will be shipping in April, you’ll be able to get an early look at each thanks to the ResurrXion Spotlight Sampler that arrives in comic shops on March 29.
