Can you feel that? There’s without a doubt a palpable sense of heightened excitement in the air now as we draw closer and closer to the release of Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It was a relatively low-key summer for the film, but now, with only about two months to go, things are really starting to kick into gear.
Not only do we have the new trailer to look forward to on Monday – which was teased earlier this morning – but Lucasfilm has also announced that tickets will go on sale tomorrow as well, as expected. For those who want a more exact timeframe, the preview will apparently debut some time around 7pm PST during Monday Night Football, and the tickets should be made available immediately after it airs.
Furthermore, those who order through Fandango will receive a limited edition poster, so that may be the way to go if you want to grab a special collector’s item. We don’t have any photos of what it’ll look like just yet, but we’re sure that it’ll be worth it.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi shoots for theaters on December 15th and when it does, it’ll include a poignant tribute to the late, great Carrie Fisher. As previously reported, General Leia Organa will be written out of the franchise entirely, as opposed to being killed off – just don’t count on seeing Fisher resurrected through the power of VFX.
Looking further ahead, the Mouse House has handed the keys to the Falcon over to J.J. Abrams for Episode IX – much to the dismay of Paramount Pictures – while a new, December 2019 release date has also been confirmed, which tees up a potentially huge box office clash with the so-far unnamed Wonder Woman sequel. And yes, Patty Jenkins will take point at the helm for Diana’s second solo movie following that record-setting deal.
