As you may recall, it wasn’t very long ago that we learned of the producers being on the hunt for someone to fill this role, so it was really only a matter of time before the official word came down. And like original reports suggested, a contortionist was enlisted so that this evildoer could be properly brought to life.

To be more specific, America’s Got Talent alumnus Troy James has been brought aboard, and will make his debut in the fifth episode to run this coming season. If anything, viewers and the STAR Labs crew alike are in for something unlike any other villain to have previously appeared.

Originally imagined as a nemesis for Jay Garrick, it’ll obviously be Barry Allen who’ll have to contend with this guy in the live action realm. And though Rag Doll’s been around since the Golden Age, he hasn’t received too much exposure outside of the comics – barring the animated series The Batman, of course.

Come to think of it, once this particular installment passes, it won’t be much longer until the big crossover set to introduce Ruby Rose as Batwoman arrives. Don’t forget, Tyler Hoechlin will also return as Superman for said event, something that series lead Grant Gustin is quite geeked about.

The Flash returns for its fifth season on Tuesday, October 9 on The CW.
