Stephen Amell Says This Year’s Arrowverse Crossover Is The Best By A Large Margin

Not that he'd say anything different, but Stephen Amell told the crowd at ACE Comic-Con that this year's Arrowverse crossover is the best by a large margin.

At this point, you can consider Stephen Amell the unofficial ambassador of the Arrowverse. I mean, not only does the guy get to make a fair amount of cool announcements, but he’s also teasing us all with cryptic social media posts on a regular basis, each of which has us on the edge of our seats.

This time, the actor’s chatting up the upcoming crossover, which are often the highlight of the season for DC fans as they bring together as many of The CW’s heroes as possible for a larger than life extravaganza. This year’s looks set to be an epic one, too. Titled “Elseworlds,” the event will unite the casts of Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl (not Legends of Tomorrow this time) for a story that’ll also introduce Ruby Rose’s Batwoman.

Not only that, but according to Amell, it’s going to be absolutely crazy. Talking to his fans via Facebook recently, here’s what he shared:

“The crossover is fucking bananas. It’s crazy… I think that this will be the best crossover event that we do. And not just the best but the best by a really, really wide margin. And I think that last year was fantastic.”

Continuing on, he explained why he loves the crossovers so much, saying:

“Crisis on Earth X, I think that’s what it was called, that was pretty crazy and getting to play doppelgängers was pretty crazy. When Greg Berlanti first talked to me about why he wanted to do crossovers, it was because it’s for the fans. It’s so people can watch characters and scenarios that combine their favorite things on TV or introduce them to new things on TV. But you also get this license to do things that we could never do in the vacuum — especially on Arrow — that we can never do in the vacuum of just our show.”

Finally, Amell teased some big surprises coming, a few of which could be here as soon as next week.

“I know that we have some crossover surprises and some things that are going to hit the media. It was supposed later during this week, but now I think it’s going to be early next week. I had the coolest day yesterday on set because … I was very, very happy and excited for David Ramsey. And on the other hand I saw something with my own two eyes standing right in front of me that I just never thought I’d see.”

Though it wouldn’t make sense for Amell to do anything but shower praise on this year’s Arrowverse crossover, we have good reason to believe that what he says is true. I mean, aside from bringing together all the usual suspects, Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman will also return, making his first appearance alongside someone who isn’t his cousin. Elizabeth Tulloch is joining the event, too, as Lois Lane, the first time the character’s showing up in the franchise. And last but not least, we have LaMonica Garrett as the Monitor, a very powerful entity from DC lore.

Suffice it to say, there’s much to look forward to and frankly, December can’t come quickly enough.
