Work’s winding down on the upcoming Arrowverse crossover, titled “Elseworlds.” How do we know? Well, star Stephen Amell, who’s expected to play as major a role as ever in the three-night event, took to Twitter today to confirm that he’s wrapped up his part of the massive production, which has encompassed The Flash, Supergirl and Arrow for the past few weeks. “That’s a wrap on the crossover,” Amell wrote on social media, before admitting that the shoot had been tough work. “I’m exhausted. Time for the weekend.”

Thanks to the official poster and set photos, we know that “Elseworlds” gave Amell the chance to try something completely different. For some unknown reason, the actor got to play the Scarlet Speedster himself in the crossover, complete with bright red costume, with Grant Gustin donning the hood of the Green Arrow. Of course, whatever reality-warping trickery’s going on here will be sorted out before the event’s over, as more recent snaps from location filming reveal that Amell will get his quiver back eventually.

This costume swap is just one piece of the bigger puzzle, though. “Elseworlds” also sees the debut of Ruby Rose as Batwoman, bringing with her the introduction of Gotham City and a few of its denizens. Plus, Tyler Hoechlin’s back as Superman – as well as a dark-suited evil version of the Man of Steel to boot – with Elizabeth Tulloch joining the ensemble as Lois Lane. And let’s not forget that John Wesley Shipp’s returning, too, and he’ll don his classic Flash costume from the 1990s.

With so many all-star team-ups going on, we likely won’t miss Legends of Tomorrow, which is sitting this one out in favor of its own self-referential time-travelling crossover. But fear not, for you can catch the rest of the Arrowverse coming together for “Elseworlds” on The CW starting December 9th.
