Jeremy Renner Teases Avengers 4 At Tokyo Comic Con

As the demand for the first Avengers 4 trailer reaches crisis point, fans have been going overboard lately in their search for clues on when and how this long-awaited unveiling might take place. Earlier this weekend, for example, Jeremy Renner took to Instagram with a few seemingly routine hashtags that were interpreted in some corners of the internet as hints of the impending teaser. But in a subsequent appearance at Tokyo Comic-Con, the Hawkeye actor made another reference to next year’s Avengers: Infinity War sequel where the trailer-related implications seem a fair bit more plausible.

As you may know, Marvel Studios is notoriously vigilant when it comes to minimizing spoiler leaks, even keeping their own cast members in the dark about the details of each new movie. Renner is presumably no exception when it comes to these protective measures, but when the star spoke at this weekend’s event, he mentioned that the studio will allow him to see some of the film’s footage “in a few days,” adding that he “can’t wait not to tell you what happens.”

Seeing how Marvel reportedly won’t even let their actors see a proper script for Avengers 4, it seems very out of character for the studio to let Renner get a sneak peak at the actual movie, especially when the star looks to have no further scenes to shoot. It therefore only figures that some fans are interpreting Renner’s words as a sign that the general public won’t have long to wait before they too get to see some footage, marking the moment where Disney finally loosens up a little on the excessive spoiler-proofing.

Either way, we’re certainly getting the vibe right now that the Avengers 4 trailer will likely be arriving within the next few days, and while there’s always the chance of further disappointment, we’ll at least get to see what Renner is seeing when the film hits theaters on May 3rd, 2019.
