Gamora Infinity War

Gamora And Nebula TV Series In Early Development For Disney Plus

There's no stopping the flood of Marvel shows coming to Disney Plus in the next few years, it seems. A few have been confirmed to be on their way, including series for Loki, Vision and Scarlet Witch and Bucky Barnes and Falcon. Others are just rumored at present, like vehicles for Nick Fury, War Machine and Rocket and Groot. If our sources are correct, we now have another to add to the list: a show centered around Gamora and Nebula.

There’s no stopping the flood of Marvel shows coming to Disney Plus in the next few years, it seems. A few have been confirmed to be on their way, including series for Loki, Vision and Scarlet Witch and Bucky Barnes and Falcon. Others, meanwhile, are just rumored at present, like vehicles for Nick Fury, War Machine and Rocket and Groot. But it doesn’t end there, as sources close to We Got This Covered have told us that a show centered around Gamora and Nebula is also in early development.

From what we understand, Marvel’s currently discussing plans for a series based around the two adoptive daughters of Thanos which would premiere on the Mouse House’s upcoming streaming service. That’s all we know right now, so it’s impossible to say whether stars Karen Gillan and Zoe Saldana would reprise their roles, but we imagine that they’d both be involved in at least some capacity.

Gamora and Nebula were first introduced into the MCU in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which established their antagonistic relationship – though both sisters hate their father with a passion. GotG Vol. 2 then saw them bury the hatchet somewhat. However, tragedy struck in Avengers: Infinity War when Thanos murdered Gamora, his favorite child, to claim the Soul Stone. Nebula currently lives, while Gamora’s expected to be resurrected somehow in Avengers: Endgame.

Word has it that the Loki series will be a prequel, focusing on a younger – recast – version of the character. As such, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Nebula and Gamora show turns out the same way, with Marvel exploring their lives before they defected from their villainous father and their complicated sibling rivalry in its early days. That is, assuming Guardians Vol. 3 eventually happens and continues their stories post-Endgame.

We’ll keep you updated as more on the Gamora and Nebula series, and what else Marvel has planned for Disney Plus, comes to light, but in the meantime, tell us, which direction would you like to see the studio take the aforementioned characters in next?
