If watching the eighth and final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones was an emotionally taxing experience, then creating said finale was another level entirely.
A small part of that journey was showcased via HBO’s intimate documentary The Last Watch, in which the show’s cast and crew reflect on the past eight seasons, and how A Song of Ice and Fire has shaped their lives. One cast member who was with HBO’s fantasy flagship from the very beginning was Sophie Turner, whose Sansa Stark emerged as a bona fide power player as the series evolved – so much so, in fact, that she wound up commanding Winterfell as an independent kingdom, undeterred by the newfound ruler Bran the Broken.
But despite being so closely involved in Game of Thrones and its grueling production, Turner recently admitted that she hasn’t yet seen the final two episodes, “The Bells” and “The Iron Throne,” likely because she’s been too busy on a little-known X-project called Dark Phoenix.

Though she considers Game of Thrones to be a central part of her acting career, Turner currently has no interest in reprising her role – not now, and perhaps not ever – as she begins to focus on other projects beyond the realms of Westeros.
Dark Phoenix has already tanked, though Turner still has two projects – namely, Broken Soldier and Heavy – incubating in post-production. After that, well… who knows? Perhaps the MCU will come calling as Marvel Studios begins to assemble its newfound roster for The Eternals and Phase 4.
