The Bad Batch Will Reportedly Appear In Live-Action Star Wars Shows

Star Wars fans have known about the Bad Batch for a long time, with George Lucas creating them for The Clone Wars years ago before it was cancelled, but this year we finally got to meet them. Clone Batch 99 were at last introduced in TCW's belated seventh and final season on Disney Plus. And they went down so well that they're getting their own animated series, suitably titled Star Wars: The Bad Batch, as announced quite recently.

The team’s reach might not stop there, though, as it’s possible they could make the leap to live-action, too. We Got This Covered has heard from our sources – the same ones who told us Ahsoka Tano is appearing in The Mandalorian season 2 and that Hayden Christensen is involved in the Obi-Wan show, both of which look to be correct now – that Lucasfilm has plans to bring the Bad Batch into their live-action series. This most likely means future seasons of The Mandalorian and the Ahsoka Tano spinoff, that we’ve previously heard about, starring Rosario Dawson.

The Bad Batch will take place following the conclusion of The Clone Wars and the rise of the Empire. This should tell us a lot about what happened to Crosshair, Echo, Hunter, Tech and Wrecker in the Original Trilogy era, then, teeing them up for an appearance on The Mandalorian, which is set several years after Return of the Jedi. We don’t know how exactly they’ll fit into the show’s storyline, but the D+ flagship looks to be connecting with the wider SW universe more and more as it goes on.

Clearly, Ahsoka’s debut in season 2, alongside Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan, is going to open the door for many more animated characters to appear in live-action and while we don’t know exactly when the Bad Batch will make the leap, it’s definitely happening. What we do know, however, is to expect Star Wars: The Bad Batch in 2021.
