We all knew that a new zombie mode would be coming with Call of Duty: Black Ops new DLC, Escalation, but did you know that you could play as Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Below is a video that is just pure awesomeness, for anyone who loves zombies in general. George A. Romero, the godfather of all that is zombie in this world, will make an appearance as himself, who seems to be a mega enemy similar to the scientist in the level "Five". The playable characters this time around are all different, featuring heroes of horror: Danny Trejo, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michael Rooker and Robert Englund. They all seem to have specific melee kills and weapons too. This trailer oozes grindhouse cinema, from the cheesy voice over and sound effects, to the grainy video bubbling onscreen. It's absolutely brilliant and goes to show how much love Activision and Treyarch have for zombies by providing gamers with fresh new takes on a mode that initially was just an afterthought. They really deserve credit for catering to such a large fan base successfully time and time again, but this time they finally hit the jackpot. The new mode is a homage to Romero, even being aptly named "Call of the Dead". The trailer needs to be watched for all the little details that will enhance your excitement beyond measure (catapult anyone?). Seriously, I don't know about you, but what's better? Winning an Academy Award as an actor or being a playable character in a game that millions of people play countless hours of?
Good news was announced today for everyone who's patiently waiting for Red Faction: Armageddon to release on May 31st. A press release from the game's developer, THQ, stated that a demo would hit live on consoles May 3rd. Armageddon takes place half a century after the previous game where you play as the grandson of former protaganist, Alec Mason. Mars is still the planet of choice but this time the fight will take place underground after the surface became too uninhabitable. Destructibility remains the focus of the game but this time there are new ways to case chaos, by using awesome new toys like the Magnet Gun, which is pretty self explanatory. Wait until you see it in motion, innovation at its best. The demo will give gamers a glimpse of what to expect in terms of action and gameplay until the game is released. Hopefully the Playstation Network will be up and running for next week or else only 360 owners will be getting a taste of destruction down at its best.

The worst thing that could happen to a gamer in this day and age is to cut the cord required for online gaming, it's equivalent to an apocalypse. Since last Wednesday, all PS3 owners are suffering through the withdrawal of the Playstation Network, including all online play, syncing trophies, communication with friends, and basically anything else that requires the use of the internet. It's a painful experience, no doubt. But what is uncontrollably painful is the fact that questions like, what is the cause behind this mayhem or how can this be happening for almost a week now, are yet to be answered.

The trailer for The Change-Up, was released today in all its red band glory. The premise has been repeated countless times now, but the casting in this film looks pitch perfect. Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman play best friends who envy their alternative lifestyles and wish one drunken night out together, to switch their lives. Well, in some strange occurrence that only happens in movies, they wake up in opposite bodies and the fun begins.
It worked in Freaky Friday, and now with a rated R formula, it looks fresh again. It's hard to say who looks funnier, the studly single Reynolds acting inappropriate in Bateman's conservative married man appearance or vice versa. Hell, Olivia Wilde is in it too, looking as good as ever. The end of the trailer is hilarious, amazing reaction shot. Check out the red band version and judge for yourself if it has what it takes to compete with the Hangover 2 as the summer's raunchiest and overall best comedy.

The latest issue of Official Playstation Magazine delves into the details of Uncharted 3, regarding the environment as well as new game play mechanics. This time around Nathan Drake and his treasure hunting buddy, Sully, are caught up in an adventure that involves most of your time exploring the Arabian dunes of Rub’ al Khali. The desert is a host that features "all of the things you’d expect in a desert”, like sandstorms and mirages for example. The sand itself will work dynamically, as Creative Director Amy Hennig explains, “The way sand blows over and curls over the tops of dunes, the way it displaces and flows – it’s almost a liquid”
It seems Boston's newly re-desirable actor, Ben Affleck, has found yet another high profile gig. He is "in talks" to star as Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's 3D adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel, The Great Gatsby. The film is penned for a release date in the jam-packed 2012 time period, with a cast that already contains the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan. The role was previously portrayed by Bruce Dern in the 1974 version, and Affleck is suitable enough to play a rich uptight socialite. This will be the first time witnessing the formerly titled "Bennifer" in the third dimension, but at least the source material is golden.
