For as long as there has been disc media gaming consoles there have been pirates. Pioneers in the gaming industry have been trying to stop the piracy of video games for years, with no real success. So what can really been done about it? Well at the moment, not much. Let's take a look at how bad piracy really is, and in what kind of ways can it affect people.
In recent years we've seem somewhat of a graphical revolution in the video gaming industry, with the creation of higher, and higher definition of resolutions. Developers have scrambled to create the best visuals possible, only to be topped by another company months later, in late 2010, however, it seems like developers reached the apex of what was possible with current generation consoles. So that leaves one question, where do we go from here, and why are graphics really that important?
I know a lot of you have heard just about enough, and some are still on the edge of their seats wondering what happens next, so here it is the latest of the PSN situation. Sony is offering a free identity theft protection service for twelve months. The service known as AllClear ID Plus, is run through one of the nation's top id protection firms Debix, Inc. The offer is limited, as Sony will begin sending out activation codes that must be used by June 18th. Keep in mind this service is only available in the US, other countries are working on similar program as well. Sony has released a detailed description on just what it is “AllClear ID Plus” does, which I’ll list below:
Yesterday THQ had their fourth quarter investor call and detailed their line-up for 2011. THQ is pulling out the stops with some great sequels to be released throughout the year. As it looks now the line consists of: the third person adventure game, Red Faction: Armageddon based two generations after Guerrilla, in which an unknown threat is sweeping across the world threatening its inhabitants. Next in line is the over the top racing game MX vs. ATV Alive, that is being released at just forty dollars per unit, THQ hopes this lower price will get more players to buy the game, then be swept up in the massive wave of DLC to follow.

To sum them up Skyrim, and Oblivion are two very different beasts. As we all know dragons play a key role in the storyline of Skyrim. The main character in which you play is a “Dragon Born”, which Howard describes as, “Anointed by the gods with the soul of a dragon”. He then gave us a very vague outline of the story being, you're trying to unravel the mystery as to why dragons have returned.
Why hello again netizens, it seems Microsoft is throwing the largest live Halo event in history at PAX Prime this year. The event will consist of tournaments, panels of cool people to meet, and some fabulous prizes. This year's event is significant because it's Halo's tenth anniversary, and Microsoft want to celebrate in style for the series that made the Xbox, and 360 legitimate contenders in the gaming market. In 2009 Batman: Arkham Asylum burst on to the scene, with a new fresh look on Batman games, but with the classic voice actors we all loved as a kid. It is clearly the best Batman game released thus far, in both the fans point of view and big time gaming medias. Not long ago we've learned that a sequel to the holy grail of Batman games will be released this coming October, so what could be added or changed to make this game even more epic than the first? Congress is now pressing Sony, with some very valid, and important questions concerning the recent event involving the PlayStation Network. They're asking things like, what took Sony so long to notify customers that their credit card information, may have been compromised? What makes you think that credit card information wasn't stolen? And, when, and how did you discover the breach? These questions are coming just as rumors of the hackers attempting to sell credit card numbers on the “black market” surfaced.
Just a couple days ago EA has announced the newest title in the Need for Speed franchise, Need for Speed: The Run. The Run, EA says is going to bring action racing to new heights, both graphically and with its new concept and gameplay.
The 3DS, while having some difficulties early, isn't disappointing us so far in content. Capcom announced early today, that with Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, a demo of Resident Evil: Revelations will be included.
