Could New Carmageddon Game Be An Independent Title?
Recent rumors indicate that the previously mentioned Carmageddon countdown may end up being an independent release. It had been thought that Square-Enix were the ones handling the game as the game's website is linked to their ownership, but new information leads us to believe that the company will not have anything to do with the project anymore. Perhaps they sold the rights of both the game and its website recently, and have yet to officially transfer site ownership? Who knows.

Potbellied Aristocrat Penguin Confirmed For Batman: Arkham City
Rocksteady has been hinting at the Penguin's appearance in Batman: Arkham City for a while now, without going as far as to actually confirm his existence in the much-anticipated sequel. However, the developer's marketing manager, Dax Ginn, has changed all that by apparently confirming the potbellied aristocrat's appearance in the game, to the Australian Sunday Herald. It makes sense considering previously released trailers for the game showed images of his Iceberg Club.

More Shadow Complex Is ‘Just A Question of When’

L.A. Noire’s First DLC Case Opens June 21
A release date for L.A. Noire's first DLC case has been announced. The Nicholson Electroplating case and its witnesses will open for examination on Tuesday, June 21, for both XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3 owners. The arson case was revealed earlier this week. However, it is unclear as to what the price will be for the digital content.

Square-Enix Carmageddon Site Adds Countdown
A new countdown has popped up on a Carmageddon website that is registered to publisher Square-Enix. This mysterious countdown doesn't have any description by it, though it does feature three skull and crossbones images. Perhaps it's a countdown for an unveiling of the game at E3 2011, you say? That's very possible. However, the countdown is set to expire at 5 a.m. on June 1 - days before the Electronic Entertainment Expo opens its doors to video games media. It's perplexing, but also very interesting.

SOCOM 4 Review
If the terms flank, covert and assault pique your interest, this is for you. With the release of Socom 4 for the PlayStation 3, armchair Navy Seals can once again order their teams to perform the aforementioned maneuvers - or just go in with their guns blazing. Though the series has always had a heavy focus on realism in its story and gameplay design, there's also a lot of arcade elements implemented, which helps please all types of shooter fans. This iteration is no different, as a machismo team of NATO soldiers finds its way into a conflict in Malaysia, where a professional military group and traditional bandits have taken up arms against out of state officials. Take control of Operations Commander Cullen Gray and his blue team of NATO soldiers, plus a rescued group of South Korean operatives, as you fight against those who have killed and maimed those who's backs you cover.
