Prey 2 May Have Been Quietly Cancelled
The worst part of this job is that you sometimes have to be the bearer of bad news (the utter lack of video-game-journalist-groupies is a close second) and I really was trying to hold off on this one until I knew more about what was happening. Sadly, it seems that Prey 2 may have been canceled quietly, which is an absolute shame considering how well the title had reportedly been doing in production.

Grasshopper May Be Working On A Sequel To Shadows Of The Damned
Now this is some exciting news. Grasshopper Manufacture has announced that they’re currently considering a sequel to Shadows of the Damned despite its commercial failings last year. Eurogamer is reporting that Grasshopper’s chief creative officer, Akira Yamoka, stated that there is internal interest in a sequel and that they believe EA could be interested in the project. This is a surprise considering the first game was left to die on retail shelves last year.

Gettysburg: Armored Warfare Asks Would The Civil War Have Been Different With Zeppelins?
I feel like I’ve let you down, dear reader. It seems somehow I had completely neglected to warn you about Gettysburg: Armored Warfare. There’s so much going on here that it’s hard to concentrate on one thing to focus here. The multiplayer hybrid of a third-person-shooter and RTS has decided to answer a question that has kept historians awake at night and almost got me kicked out of middle school history class: What would happen if the Confederate and Union armies managed to get their hands on miniguns and zeppelins. This is happening. If that’s not insane enough, I imagine 64-player death matches will crank the madness levels up a few notches.

Did Zenimax Media Just Trademark Its First Skyrim DLC Pack?
It seems that we might be getting some Skyrim DLC sooner than we had originally imagined. Bethesda Softworks' parent company, Zenimax Media, recently filed a trademark application for “Dawnguard,” which is tagged as “computer game software and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the Internet and wireless devices."

It’s A Good Time To Be A Fan Of Sniping Games
It is a good time to be a sniper fan. It wasn’t that long ago that the only way to get your sniping fix was to run around quick scoping in Call Of Duty or hang back in TF2 and hope to god a spy wouldn’t find you. Well, in the upcoming months we have not one but TWO realistic sniping games coming up. It’s enough to make me giggle like a school girl in anticipation, however I’ve been instructed to stop doing that in the WGTC bunker so I’m going to have to try and maintain myself.

Steam Has The Entire Square Enix Library On Sale This Weekend
I really don’t know how Steam stays in business. Well, I have an idea (it has something to do with hats) but I’m always amazed at how often their able to put good games on sale. From today until the 26th, the entire Square Enix catalogue is on sale for some ridiculously low prices. The sale is kicking off with the Hitman series with all three games going for $2.49, but you can pick up the entire catalogue for $74.99. As always with Steam sales, if you’re looking for a certain title wait until the end of the sale to see if it’s one of the daily deals. Just Cause 2 is an absolute steal for $7.49 however it’s not impossible that it’ll be lower than that between now and the 26th, and I'd be shocked if Deus Ex didn't have a fairly sizable price drop as well.

Dark Souls Announcement Is On The Way, PC Port Expected
Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t want to get you too excited but I think we did it. For possibly the first time in history, an online petition may have been taken seriously and implemented. Confrontation Preview
Cyanide is certainly running the gamut with their upcoming title, Confrontation. The RPG-meets-RTC title manages to dabble in strategy while having a bit of an MMO feel to it as well. Even in the early preview build I was allowed to run through, Confrontation is standing out as more than just the sum of its parts. It certainly seems like the game will end up offering a unique experience that will set it apart from just about everything else on the market.
