You can't have missed all the controversy that's been surrounding Gina Carano for a while now, with the actress often facing backlash on social media for her socio-political views on such hot button topics as COVID-19, voter fraud and the recent riots. Indeed, #FireGinaCarano trends regularly on Twitter, as angry Star Wars fans demand that Lucasfilm remove her from The Mandalorian. That hasn't happened yet, of course, and it may be because Carano's got a lot of support from her co-stars.

Batwoman Ratings Continue To Plummet With Latest Episode
Batwoman returned for its much-discussed second season a couple of weeks back, and while DC fans praised Javicia Leslie's debut as new heroine Ryan Wilder, wider audiences unfortunately didn't seem that bothered by The CW show's semi-reboot. Ratings dipped to make the premiere one of the least-watched episodes so far and while there was hope that things would pick up the next week, now that the figures are in, we can say that it only got worse.

New WandaVision Theory Says Scarlet Witch May Accidentally Resurrect Ultron
Wanda and Vision's sitcom life seen in WandaVision so far may seem idyllic, but there are increasing signs that Scarlet Witch is a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. In episode 3, for example, Wanda lost it when "Geraldine" (really Monica Rambeau) mentioned how her brother Pietro was killed by Ultron. Though we didn't see the moment she snapped, we know Monica was flung out of Wanda's augmented reality in a fierce surge of energy.

When it was announced last summer that Kristen Stewart had signed on to play Princess Diana in a new biopic, the internet blasted the casting as a poor choice given the former Twilight actress' lack of resemblance to the beloved late royal. After 30 years, The Sandman is finally making it to the screen. Various attempts have been made to adapt the seminal Vertigo comics over the decades, but Netflix is the one to finally make it work. Spy Kids Reboot In Development, Robert Rodriguez To Direct
Fresh off his grand return to the family genre with Netflix's We Can Be Heroes, Robert Rodriguez is working on a reboot of his beloved Spy Kids franchise. Deadline reported this Tuesday that the iconic filmmaker is partnering up with Skydance Media and Spyglass Media Group for the project. As with all the four previous installments in the series, Rodriguez will write and direct the film.

Last summer, The Old Guard hit Netflix and went down a smash with subscribers. Thanks to being a fresh take on the superhero genre and starring Charlize Theron at her ass-kicking best, the high-concept action movie became one of the streamer's most successful films ever, with 78 million viewers catching it over its first four weeks. You'd imagine that a sequel would be a cert, then, but surprisingly, Netflix hasn't confirmed anything either way in the months since its arrival.

Gina Carano And The Mandalorian Are Trending Above Star Wars: The High Republic
Lucasfilm has got big plans for their flashy new publishing initiative Star Wars: The High Republic, a whole era's worth of content that includes novels, comic books and more. It only just kicked off earlier this month, but titles will ramp up across 2021 and 2022. If you look at the analytics on Goggle Trends, however, it might not have made the strongest start, as The High Republic is getting just a fraction of the searches that are devoted to The Mandalorian.
