I'm a writer/editor who's been at the site since 2015. I cover politics, weird history, video games and... well, anything really. Keep it breezy, keep it light, keep it straightforward.
Pepé Le Pew isn't in the top tier of Warner Bros.' iconic lineup of Looney Tunes characters, but he's still instantly recognizable to many around the world. So, the news that the upcoming Space Jam: A New Legacy featured a scene with him alongside Jane the Virgin's Greice Santo that was ultimately cut from the movie, along with rumors that the studio is permanently benching the skunk, was greeted with dismay.
The Walking Dead is now almost two decades old, with the black and white indie comic by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore spawning a transmedia empire of TV shows, films, video games, movies, board games, novels, theme park rides and all manner of merchandise. The brand is at the center of AMC's lineup, too, with the core television series set to air its eleventh and final season later this year.
The Punisher is currently in limbo at Marvel Studios. Jon Bernthal was excellent in the role, but despite many rumors, there's been no official confirmation that any actors from the MCU Netflix shows will reprise their parts. In addition, the antihero is in an awkward political spot. The brutal, gun-toting vigilante doesn't fit neatly into Disney's stable of characters, which is compounded by the studio's discomfort at his skull logo being appropriated by cops, who've been pictured wearing it as they beat protesters.
Hugh Jackman's Wolverine was one of the best things about the 2000s X-Men trilogy, so you’d be forgiven for getting hyped for his first solo outing. Fans were shocked and disappointed, though, when they finally saw the terrible X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009. A combination of an awful script, shoddy CGI and bad production decisions sunk the film and to this day, it's considered the worst entry in Fox’s X-Universe.
We learned recently that Pepé Le Pew, the cartoon skunk that loves to sexually harass women, won't be making it into Space Jam: A New Legacy. This may not come as such a surprise as regardless of the fact that he's an antagonist, a children's cartoon character that gropes non-consenting women is bound to attract controversy in 2021. But, in an interesting twist, it turns out that a scene was shot with Jane the Virgin's Greice Santo featuring the character and it's been left on the cutting room floor.
WandaVision's big finale last week left the characters in some interesting places. Wanda Maximoff seems to be harnessing her powers while studying the arcane pages of the Darkhold, Agatha Harkness is trapped in Westview (though I'm betting not for long) and Wiccan and Speed were communicating from beyond the grave. And as for Paul Bettany's Vision?
The first season of The Witcher was spread across multiple timelines, with the adventures of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri taking place in various years. Fans of the books and games know that their relationships are at the core of this universe, with the trio going on to form an unlikely but enduring family unit. Much of the first batch of episodes was showing how the three came together, with the final moments showing Geralt and Ciri meeting one another and her asking who Yennefer is.
