J.K. Rowling Returns Human Rights Award After Being Called Out For Transphobia
Last December, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling received the Ripple of Hope award from the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organization. The award is intended to recognize people who have demonstrated a "commitment to social change." Rowling proudly accepted, calling it "one of the highest honours I've ever been given" and praising Robert F. Kennedy for embodying "everything I most admire in a human being."

Lucasfilm Looking To The Expanded Universe For Future Star Wars Stories
After The Rise of Skywalker there are no officially announced Star Wars movies on the horizon. Sure, we know that The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson is still (theoretically) working on his trilogy, that Thor: Ragnarok's Taika Waititi has his own film coming and Kevin Feige has some kind of project under development. But none of these have titles or release dates, so for now, it's all hazy.

Watch: David Tennant Is Chilling In First Trailer For New Show Des
Dennis Nilsen was one of the most notorious British serial killers of the 20th century. Active in London in the late 1970s and early 80s, he preyed on the gay community, killing at least 12 men and boys. Nilsen was eventually discovered when his tactic of dissecting his victims and flushing them down the toilet caused the drains in his house to become blocked with bones and human flesh. Funnily enough, I used to live a couple of doors down from that very house and it's still got a creepy vibe.

Release Date Confirmed For First Trailer For Dune Remake
Denis Villeneuve’s Dune looks to be one of the most ambitious science fiction films of recent years. Multiple directors have dashed themselves against the rocks of Frank Herbert's classic novels, including Alejandro Jodorowsky and David Lynch. Lynch actually managed to get his Dune to the screen, only for it to be a huge flop and the only movie he's not proud of. But where they failed, Villeneuve has a good chance of succeeding.

The Republican National Convention is underway, where the nation's freakiest ghouls gather to make bizarre speeches and plot the future destruction of the planet. We're halfway through and things have already gotten seriously odd, with the cherry on top being Kimberly Guilfoyle's surreal screaming speech delivered to a largely empty room. It seems that this was too out-there even for Trump's campaign, with his advisors describing it as "strange" and "weird."
