Charlie's Angels is officially a box office bomb. The latest revival of the 1976 TV show opened to a disastrous $8.6 million domestically and squeaked to just $19.3 million in international markets. Set against a budget of around $50-$55 million (plus promotional costs), this will surely disappoint the studio and likely put the franchise on ice for the foreseeable future.
Black Widow hits cinemas on May 1st. However, promotion has been thin on the ground, with a single poster the only officially released piece of promotional material. That doesn’t mean there isn’t information out there about the film, though. After all, there was a teaser screened at Disney’s D23 Expo, we’ve seen multiple pictures from the set and promo art from the movie has already surfaced.
You have to admire the growing ambitions of the Arrowverse. Having begun as a relatively small-scale show in Arrow, the franchise has now blossomed into a fascinating version of the DC Universe that's confident enough to adapt extremely comic book-y events like Crisis on Infinite Earths. But one of their upcoming shows might be their biggest yet: Superman & Lois.
DC and Marvel's rivalry is infamous, with the two universes having co-existed but (almost) never interacting. At one point, the primary difference between them was that Marvel was more concerned with superheroes with human flaws, while DC was more about fantastical stories, but now, the tonal difference between the two is somewhat academic. With that in mind, what might a DC vs. Marvel superhero movie look like?
Of all the fan communities out there, those campaigning for the release of the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League are by far my favorite. Not only have they kept up their passion for more than two years, but they've done so without descending into bitterness, have remained organized and focused, and raised a bunch of money for worthy charities along the way. But will they get their wish?
The new Infinity Saga box set comes with exclusive special features, one of which confirms that Captain Marvel almost appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
With the streaming wars hotting up, the major players are pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into prestige series designed to keep subscribers hooked. One of the biggest of these (if not the biggest) will be Amazon's The Lord of the Rings show. But we still don't have any concrete details as to what it will be about other than that it'll be set primarily during the 'Second Age' (with the events we saw in The Lord of the Rings movies taking place in the Third Age).
