Dwayne Johnson Reportedly Eyed For The Island Of Doctor Moreau Remake

Sony Pictures have begun development on a new take on The Island of Doctor Moreau. The classic 1986 H.G. Wells novel tells of a genius scientist who conducts a series of cruel experiments designed to make weird animal/human hybrids. Naturally, it all goes wrong and (in a twist perhaps more shocking to Victorians), Dr. Moreau's creations end up killing him.

MCU Fans Freaking Out Over Sam Raimi Directing Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness

About a month ago, we got the shock announcement that director Scott Derrickson had left Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. That old chestnut of creative differences was cited, with there reportedly being tension over the intensity of the horror elements in the movie. The search for a replacement began immediately and at the top of my list was The Evil Dead and Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi. Experience with superhero movies. Check. Experience with horror. Check. Dynamic visual style in keeping with Doctor Strange. Big check.

Mad Max: The Wasteland Reportedly Greenlit And Set To Shoot This Fall

Mad Max is back, baby! The Road Warrior blasted back onto screens in 2015 with Mad Max: Fury Road and gave the long-dormant franchise a shot of adrenaline. That film went on to critical acclaim and picked up ten well-deserved Academy Awards nomination, including Best Picture and Best Director. Since its release director George Miller has been hyping up the follow-up to the movie, teasing spinoff Furiosa and Mad Max 5: Mad Max: The Wasteland.

Jigsaw Will Reportedly Return In Spiral: From The Book Of Saw

Yesterday we got our first full look at Spiral: From the Book of Saw. The movie seems to be an interesting take on the Saw franchise, combining the grisly and sadistic mutilation games that the series is known for with a Se7en inspired detective story. This twist comes courtesy of actor and comedian Chris Rock, who reportedly came up with the concept and got this new production moving.

Disney Reportedly Has Plans For Five Seasons Of The Mandalorian

With an impressive array of talent both in front of and behind the camera, we expected The Mandalorian to be good. What we didn't expect was that it'd be this damn good. With Solo: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker both disappointing critics and fans, The Mandalorian is now considered to be the standard-bearer for quality in Star Wars. As such, it was and is hugely popular, spawned a bona fide pop culture phenomenon in Baby Yoda and is responsible for a lot of subscriptions to Disney Plus.

Disney Says Rick Moranis Isn’t Returning For Honey, I Shrunk The Kids Reboot

I really miss Rick Moranis. The Ghostbusters, Spaceballs and Little Shop of Horrors star has effectively retired from Hollywood. In 1997 he announced that he was taking a 'hiatus' from the movie industry to raise his children and hasn't returned as "he doesn't really miss" acting. So it was something of a surprise when rumors recently began circulating that Moranis would be returning as oddball scientist Wayne Szalinski for a reboot of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

Obi-Wan Would’ve Reportedly Fought A Legends Villain In Disney Plus Show

Obi-Wan is on hold at the moment while Lucasfilm deal with their script issues. The delay resulted in howls of disapproval from fans and calls for a change of management over Star Wars, pointing to a number of serious errors made over the last few years. But while Obi-Wan was so close to shooting that there was a crew preparing sets, whatever the plans for the show may have been a month ago, they're now up in the air.

Paramount Reveals First Look At Snake Eyes In New G.I. Joe Spinoff

The G.I. Joe franchise has long been the disappointing cousin of Transformers. While the latter has gone on to multiple sequels, spinoffs and a huge total gross at the box office, G.I. Joe has consistently underperformed. Both 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and its sequel, 2013's G.I. Joe: Retaliation made money, but not quite as much as Paramount hoped. As such, the franchise has been on ice for a while. But it's being defrosted this October, in Snake Eyes.

Tony Todd Reportedly Doesn’t Even Appear In The Candyman Reboot

Candyman is due out this summer and has an impressive range of talent behind it. Yayha Abdul-Mateen II stars, Jordan Peele is on script duty and Little Woods' Nia DaCosta is in the director's chair. Right now, we have conflicting reports on whether it'll be a sequel or a full reboot though, as the production was filmed under the code name Say my Name and there was a lot of secrecy on set.
