Even as someone who keeps up with all of the Arrowverse shows, I admit that it's been kind of hard to get back into the groove when watching Supergirl. I say that because after the series returned from midseason hiatus, it went off air for another two months after only four episodes. Having established that, it's only natural that it take some time for all the little things to come back to viewers once things pick back up.
Even if you aren't exactly a superfan of the Doom franchise, you have to acknowledge its place in video game history. Had you been around in the 1990's, then odds are you played one of its earliest installments on a PC at some point. If not, then perhaps you've at least familiarized yourself with one of the more modern offerings, as the series remains a staple in the horror genre.
By now, it stands to reason that a fair amount of those reading this have already seen Avengers: Infinity War. After all, there are always dedicated moviegoers who are somehow able to get their hands on tickets to those jam-packed Thursday night showings. As for the rest of you, odds are that you'll find a way to attend a screening before the weekend is over.
The beauty of a shared continuity such as the Arrowverse is that not only does it yield those massive multi-series crossovers each fall like Crisis on Earth-X, but it means there’s also room for cross-pollination here and there on a smaller scale. Thus, you may see characters from Arrow making guest appearances on The Flash and vice versa.
With May being just around the corner, now is about the time that our favorite shows are guaranteed to become nail-biters as we begin the final sprint toward a variety of season finales. And if you're at all familiar with Arrow, then you know that series in particular is capable of being far beyond intense at this point.
Among the many things the current season of Arrow has going for it, the elder series in The CW’s DC TV universe can lay claim to bringing back a number of fan favorites in recent memory. Already, we’ve been witness to some unforgettable returns made by Manu Bennett’s Deathstroke and Colton Haynes’ Roy Harper (who’ll be rejoining the principal cast next year), with even Josh Segarra reprising his role of Prometheus as part of Oliver Queen’s Vertigo-induced hallucination a few weeks back.
Gotham may be taking the week off due to the NFL Draft, but the network has thankfully offered up something new to help tide us over during the brief hiatus. Not surprisingly, it has everything to do with the unfolding Joker situation, which makes the break doubly painful to endure as the season is essentially nearing the home stretch.
Although it could be argued that the Predator franchise is rather hit or miss, there’s no denying that the creature itself remains among the most iconic in science fiction/horror history. Having always been a marvel when it comes to prosthetic-based costume design, it likely gives moviegoers nightmares to this day – regardless of whether they’re able to get to the choppa before waking.
With the DC Extended Universe currently being in a state of repair, there are many fans – myself included – who are holding out hope that Man of Steel 2 will one day come to fruition. Yes, Superman has appeared in two team-up flicks since his last solo film hit theaters in 2013, but Henry Cavill is more than deserving of a proper followup. In other words, it’s time that he receive The Dark Knight to his Batman Begins, if you catch my drift.
So, now that we know Ralphy Dibny is gone for good, I suppose all we can do is sit back and see how the remainder of the war between the Flash and the Thinker will play out. On that note, if some new promo material circulating ahead of next week's episode, "Therefore She Is," gives us any sort of idea of what to expect, it's that we could be in store for a real barn-burner.
