After spending a few years on ice, Wolverine sure is making an impact on readers with his return to the Marvel Universe, even if it’s been a bit subtle thus far. If you’ll recall, he began appearing in various epilogue sequences that the House of Ideas have dubbed “post-credits scenes” throughout the months of January and February. But, as it turns out, Logan isn’t finished lurking in the shadows, as the publisher has given us one last teaser to savor during this holiday week.
One thing I've noticed in the time I've been a writer is how the mere mention of Batman Beyond sends readers into a frenzy. Actually, that doesn't surprise me much, because in the time since the beloved animated series that chronicled the adventures of a future Dark Knight left airwaves, the only things that continued its legacy outside of the comic book medium were that of an epilogue episode of Justice League Unlimited and a DC Nation short years later.
With the Arrowverse having become as expansive as it is, it's nice to see that the producers overseeing the various series haven't forgotten where certain characters came from. In the case of Legends of Tomorrow, the Waverider crew mostly consists of heroes who first appeared over on Arrow or The Flash before they made the leap to the time traveling ensemble show.
To be completely honest, I’m just as excited to see each remaining episode of Gotham this spring as much as I am Avengers: Infinity War on opening weekend. That may seem like a bold statement to many of you, sure, but with the way this season’s been heating up, and how Cameron Monaghan will officially bring the Joker to the series soon enough, how can I not get geeked?
Having been a lover of mutants since their popularity boomed back in the 1990's, I must confess that X-Men: Dark Phoenix was among the comic book movies I was most anticipating this year. Having said that, you can imagine my shock and dismay upon learning that the film has been delayed until early 2019.
Unlike someone like, say, Freddy Krueger, the character of Michael Myers has mostly been played by different men over the years, with Tyler Mane really being the only actor to spring to fans' minds when it comes to who can lay claim to being a repeat offender. But, in an ingenious move, Blumhouse Productions managed to nab Nick Castle for their upcoming Halloween picture.
Well, we all knew that Infinity Countdown would lead to something big (you can read our review of the first issue here), but now we finally have confirmation as to what that'll be.
Over the course of Batman's expansive cinematic history, the Caped Crusader has enjoyed no shortage of vehicles. Most notable of them has been the Batmobile, his highly stylized car that has appeared in some form or fashion in every movie he's appeared. Still, there have been other methods of transportation, like, for instance, the Batwing and even the Batskiboat.
When you sit back and realize that it's been nearly eleven years since the direct-to-video line of DC Universe animated films kicked off, it really puts in perspective how quickly time flies by. But what's even crazier is that the movie that got the ball rolling - Superman: Doomsday - was adapted from the same source material that one of Warner Bros. Animation's next offerings will be as well, that being The Death of Superman.
Aside from Ash's chainsaw hand, the first thing that springs to mind whenever I think of the Evil Dead franchise is that of the remote cabin in the woods, which served as the setting for the original two films and the eventual remake. But of those three flicks, it could be argued that Evil Dead II resonated with fans most, for it firmly established the horror-comedy tone the series has become known for.
