Despite the fact that we're still very much in the dark when it comes to Arrow season 8's overall storyline, more details come to light with each passing week. Most recently, we learned that Oliver Queen is indeed working with the Monitor, thereby cementing the idea that the final ten episodes will serve as a prelude of sorts to the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event.
When it comes to adapting video games to film, you have to think that translating the fighting genre may be the hardest of all. Though Mortal Kombat may make it easier than most because of the rich mythology it boasts, screenwriters still have to decide which characters to include and how to make the narrative flow well.
It could certainly been argued that the past fifteen or so years of Captain America comics have been the most complicated time for Steve Rogers in the character's entire history. I mean, he's been "dead," he aged up for a bit, a doppelganger of his aligned with Hydra, and he was succeeded as Captain America by Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson at different points. On the plus side, this stuff has made for great reading more often than not.
In case you hadn't heard, The Flash is getting a new showrunner for season 6 in the form of Eric Wallace. Having already been part of the team behind the scenes, the new head honcho should prove to be a fitting successor to Todd Helbing - and he really is making sure that we the viewers are kept on our toes going forward.
With Arrow soon commencing its eighth and final season, it'd be foolish not to think the producers won't go all out by securing some huge guest stars. After all, everybody in front of and behind the camera likely wants to assure this show goes out with a bang.
To say that the third season of Young Justice has been a time for change when it comes to the hero known as Kaldur'ahm is an understatement. I mean, not only has he graduated from being Aqualad to inheriting the mantle of Aquaman and joining the Justice League, but he's also now representing the LGBT community.
Say what you want about how Supergirl's fourth season ultimately turned out, but I firmly believe Sam Witwer to be one of its bright spots. From the get-go, he hit home runs with whatever the writers threw his way. Then again, he's always proven himself to be a solid actor ever since dazzling us on Smallville and various Star Wars projects.
At first, I was somewhat lukewarm when it came to the newly launched Swamp Thing TV series. But as it gradually unfolded and picked up the pace, I found myself falling in love with it. In my view, it's a beautiful show when you get down to it. It's well-acted and cleverly written, and Friday the 13th alum Derek Mears conveys such emotion as the titular creature. I can't help feeling for him every time he's onscreen.
Even if you know Marv Wolfman and George Perez's Crisis on Infinite Earths trade paperback forward and backward, odds are you still don't know what to expect from its TV adaptation for the most part. Though the crossover event will no doubt reshape the Arrowverse landscape forever and probably pare it down to one coherent universe, no one can be too sure of what'll transpire. In other words, we're more so dealing with an "inspired by" type of situation.
To me, at least, we as fans of Arrow are as in the dark as we were one year ago at this time. Back then, all we really knew going into season 7 was that Oliver Queen was in prison and a new Emerald Archer would be prowling Star City. And now, we're left mystified as to how the eighth and final season will set up "Crisis on Infinite Earths."
