With trailers for the midseason premieres of both Supergirl and The Flash having been released days ago, fans of the Arrowverse were left wondering when they would see some new footage heralding the return of the rest of The CW's DC TV shows. In what may be described as a holiday treat, we're now three-fourths of the way there as we finally have our first look at the returning episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
If anything can be said about Gotham, it's that some truly brilliant young actors have turned in some memorable performances as they reimagine some of the greatest villains to ever leap off the pages of comic books. Robin Lord Taylor has given us a multilayered Penguin markedly different from actors who have preceded him; Cory Michael Smith plays Edward Nygma with a straighter face than previously seen in live action; Maggie Geha is currently giving Poison Ivy some much needed on film redemption; and Cameron Monaghan damn near stole the entire series with his maniacal interpretation of Jerome Valeska, the proto-Joker.
Longtime fans of survival horror who may not cater to the Mad Max vibe given by Resident Evil: The Final Chapter have an alternative to look forward to in 2017 when the third in the line of wonderful CGI-animated films arrives guns blazing in the form of Resident Evil: Vendetta.
Business has certainly picked up in the last week or so when it comes to news concerning Riverdale, The CW's next major comic book adaptation to grace the small screen. In addition to learning that Archie Andrews' mother will be played by none other than '80s icon Molly Ringwald, a brief promo and featurette dropped.
Perhaps I wasn't alone when I was taken by surprise when the DC TV midseason finales lacked trailers for returning episodes upon their conclusion. Sure, seeing what's to come seems like such a simple idea and we've come to take it for granted, but not receiving even a 20-30 second teaser can make a hiatus pretty hard to endure. Thankfully, we finally have promos for the midseason premieres of both Supergirl and The Flash to present today.
With cinemas being crowded by more superhero movies than ever before, it can become exceedingly difficult for moviegoers to choose their favorites - or easier for some. The latter appears to be the case for Mark Millar, the man who wrote the comic book mini-series that served as inspiration for Captain America: Civil War.
Although it certainly took a while for us to get a substantial trailer for The CW's next major comic book adaptation to hit airwaves, Riverdale, we're slowly but surely being granted more looks into this reimagined world now that the floodgates have been opened, so to speak.
If one thing is for certain, it's that any film set in "a galaxy far, far way" is going to rake in some serious loot. Keeping with tradition, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is already dominating the worldwide box office and we wouldn't expect otherwise.
Although a theatrical release for The Batman isn't too far off, Zack Snyder isn't through releasing goodies pertaining to Ben Affleck's first silver screen outing as The Dark Knight. It's become quite apparent that he's been enjoying revealing never before seen photos via the mobile app known as Vero and shows no signs of stopping any time soon.
Although not perfect, Justice League Action delivers a heroic experience that is sure to delight children and adults alike. Not afraid to use more obscure characters from the start, this new series will serve as a great DC primer for a new generation.
