If there's one thing Rob Liefeld will be known for after enjoying a long and illustrious career, it'll probably be for creating Deadpool. Yes, I do realize the writer/artist has worked on other icons and helped launch Image Comics back in the day, but the Merc with a Mouth has emerged as one of the industry's hottest characters in recent years.
In recent years, Jonathan Hickman has most certainly become one of the premier writers over at Marvel Comics. At this rate, he's primed to be mentioned in the same breath as Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Millar as scribes who've charted bold new territory at the House of Ideas.
As a fan of the Arrowverse, I must say that I'm very much looking forward to the new Batwoman series. With Arrow on its way out, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have another show around that'll be darker in tone. And now that Gotham has finished its run over on Fox, one would think many villains are now fair game for The CW when they weren't before.
Even though Legends of Tomorrow's fifth season won't commence until sometime in early 2020, the cast have already gotten back to work. Though this is when Arrowverse shows normally go in front of cameras, I was half-expecting for the Waverider crew to be granted an extended vacation, but I guess this affords them some very generous lead-in time.
If the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" prime time crossover event is to be anything like the comic book on which it's based, then it'll most definitely change the Arrowverse landscape forever. After all, why adapt such a beloved story arc if it's not going to cause some lasting seismic shifts?
When it comes to the Arrowverse and its timeline, there's a proud history involving speedsters screwing up things. For the most part, it's usually the Flash or his daughter, XS, who are the culprits. Well, you could argue the Legends of Tomorrow cast have made similar mistakes more than once, but theirs have been pretty much contained to their own show.
Like we've been saying here for some time, viewers should expect for Arrow's eighth and final season to feel drastically different from previous offerings. I mean, not only did the official synopsis released this past spring hint at a possible science fiction turn, but Stephen Amell pretty much confirmed it himself when he said his show will serve as a prelude of sorts to "Crisis on Infinite Earths" - at least in my view.
When the Batman: Hush animated movie adaptation was finally announced at long last one year ago, I was among the many rejoicing. Seriously, it felt like the Powers That Be were really dragging their feet on allowing for the fan favorite story making the jump from the printed page, but we'll be able to see it in full soon enough.
Earlier today, we brought news that Supergirl will indeed finally don a new costume as of her show's fifth season. In the eyes of longtime viewers, an aesthetic upgrade was overdue because such is the norm in the Arrowverse. Technically, Melissa Benoist has worn a few other suits here and there, but you can't really count Overgirl or Red Daughter's threads because those are different characters.
