As we inch ever closer to the theatrical release of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (March 25, 2016), fans jump on whatever chance they can to get new looks at the film's characters. And, as with any superhero movie, some of the biggest talking points tend to be the costumes.
The new year will bring us yet another small screen adaptation based on a DC/ Vertigo Comics property when Lucifer makes its debut in just over a month's time. FOX is keen to get casual viewers and fans of the comic book on board though and so, they've kicked the marketing machine into high gear.
Arrow fans have another reason to jump for joy, for its ever expanding universe just added another superhero. Technically, that hero already existed in the form of some animated shorts released on the CW Seed online streaming service, but now the character will make her first ever live action appearance on an upcoming episode of Arrow.
Things may soon become difficult for the cast of Supergirl when the producers intend to introduce yet another element from the DC Universe to the show. With the recent reveal that J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter has been posing as Hank Henshaw for years, it stands to reason that not only will we learn more of his backstory, but characters familiar to him will appear.
While we still have to wait slightly longer than three months until the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. has sated our appetites as best they can, kicking the film's marketing into high gear. A couple weeks ago, we were treated to a new trailer that showed DC's Trinity -Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman - as they stood united against the film's newly revealed villain, Doomsday.
Hot on the heels of an episode that got everyone talking, expectations are high for the winter finale of Supergirl, which happens to be titled "Hostile Takeover." The episode will see Kara go toe-to-toe with her villainous aunt, Astra, and follow Cat Grant as she deals with a hacking scandal, which seems highly reminiscent of what was going on in the world a year ago at this time. Fans should also keep their eyes peeled as Chris Vance will debut as Non, a villain everyone should remember from Superman II.
I'm sure that I was not the only one who nearly shed tears of joy when the man posing as Hank Henshaw was revealed to be J'onn J'onzz/The Martian Manunter on this past Monday's episode of Supergirl. Given the fact that the show is brought to us by Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti, the minds behind shows such as Arrow and The Flash, it comes as no surprise that they chose to broaden the scope of Supergirl by adding other major heroes from the DC Universe.
The CW has released the first promo video for the mid-season premiere of Supernatural, "The Devil in the Details," which can be viewed above. After bearing witness to what was quite possibly the most grandiose mid-season finale in the history of the show, fans may agree that whatever Lucifer has in store for Sam may not be as torturous as having to wait to see what comes next. Such is the nature of great cliffhangers.
The CW has released the first promo video for the iZombie mid-season premiere, which can be viewed above. While the title of Season Two's tenth episode has yet to be disclosed, we can extrapolate some details from the video.
Even though the theatrical release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is fast approaching, that does not mean it is too soon to be thinking about the Justice League movie. After all, seeing seven of DC's most popular heroes fighting side by side on the silver screen will soon become a reality and it is hard to imagine anybody passing up a chance to see it.
