For some time now, the animation division over at Warner Bros. has earned much respect by churning out one fantastic DC Comics-based movie after another. But soon enough, believe it or not, they'll likely be given a shot at adapting one of the most beloved franchises in gaming history: Mortal Kombat.
Back when Marc Guggenheim was running the show, he'd often tease upcoming episodes of Arrow by posting the top page of the screenplay on social media once filming for the relevant installment would commence. His successor, Beth Schwartz, has done likewise, and she's been having a bit of fun in doing so in recent memory.
When it comes time to discuss the illustrious career of a director such as John Carpenter, it can become rather difficult to choose a single favorite from his films. But as much as I love Halloween and Big Trouble in Little China, I think Escape from New York actually takes the cake for me.
Earlier this week, The CW re-aired the "Elseworlds" crossover, so I considered it my duty to rewatch the epic in its entirety. After all, not only did I find it to be the best Arrowverse event to date, but it'll serve as required viewing heading into "Crisis on Infinite Earths."
Even though Reign of the Supermen's home video release is still a few weeks away, 2019 is already shaping up to be one heck of a year for DC animated movies. After all, not only will it bring us the long awaited Batman: Hush adaptation, but we also have an original tale in the form of Wonder Woman: Bloodlines to anticipate.
Even though I'm someone who expects for certain mainstay heroes to remain on the major super teams, I do enjoy the occasional oddball additions to the lineups. In other words, I think it's cool seeing Batwoman as a member of the Justice League, or Wolverine suiting up with the Avengers.
As I've recently stated, it could be argued that less is known at this point about the rest of Arrow's seventh season than we knew going in this past fall. Fortunately, though, this week has played host to more promotional material teasing what's to come.
With the "Elseworlds" crossover now behind us and winter hiatus almost at its end, the time will soon come for Supergirl to resume business as usual. If you'll remember, "Bunker Hill" saw Agent Liberty publicly unmasked as Ben Lockwood and incarcerated, yet he's somehow emerged from the situation a hero. And if that weren't enough, the Girl of Steel has been fired from the DEO because she won't reveal her secret identity.
Based on all we've seen coming from the set of the Joker film starring Joaquin Phoenix, you'd think we know quite a lot about it. After all, various photos snapped by paparazzi found their way to the internet while principal photography was occurring. And as could be expected for anything involving the Clown Prince of Crime, everyone and their mother kept a close eye on what was going on.
Based on the cliffhanger to last month's "What's Past is Prologue" alone, it's only fair to assume that the Nora West-Allen-Eobard Thawne dynamic will factor heavily into season 5B. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to learn the full details of their collusion, and how Thawne's manipulation of the young heroine factors into what is undoubtedly a grand scheme of his.
