We're only one episode into the seventh season of Arrow, but I think we can all agree on how it's given us much to ponder very early on. Already, we're wondering what the heck is up with those flash forwards involving Roy Harper and an older William, not to mention when Oliver Queen will get out of prison, and just whom the new vigilante prowling Star City may be.
Seeing as how it's a time traveling show, you could say that no character is off limits for Legends of Tomorrow. Obviously, this extends to the dead, so we'll just refer you to a guy named Captain Cold if you're in need of a reminder.
When it comes to superheroes who've had headlining gigs on screens both big and small, the likes of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Spider-Man, Shazam, the Hulk and Daredevil can each lay claim to being part of an exclusive club. But, amazingly enough, a character who's been around for as long as Green Arrow has yet to attend the party.
While we may not know all the specifics about the next major Arrowverse crossover, "Elseworlds," one could say the puzzle is coming together in the most fantastic of ways.
Now that Shane West has been confirmed as Bane for Gotham season 5, there's no more room for debate as to whom Eduardo Dorrance may be. At first, it was assumed he'd wind up as King Snake, the brute's father in the comics, but it's important to stress how that guy's first name was "Edmund," not "Eduardo." Basically, the producers of the show gave the iconic villain a full name to go along with their reinterpretation.
Though Supergirl tells the story of Kara Zor-El first and foremost, it's pretty much impossible to avoid certain hallmarks of the DC Universe due to her being the cousin of Superman. As such, Tyler Hoechlin has already shown up as Big Blue on several occasions - and will return this fall for the "Elseworlds" crossover - not to mention other vital characters such as James Olsen and Cat Grant putting in appearances.
In my view, one of the most essential ingredients when making a good movie is that of ensuring it contains a dynamite score. Though some may not think it, music can make or break a final cut, as it often serves as a director’s secret weapon when it comes to establishing the tone of a specific scene – or it can assure that your product is placed among the pantheon of the all-time greats.
While we’re still technically waiting on an official synopsis for the next major Arrowverse crossover, “Elseworlds,” this week's reveal of the teaser poster told us so much about it by showing how Stephen Amell will play the Flash and Grant Gustin will likewise suit up as Green Arrow. When you think about it, the concept is quite ingenious in its simplicity, and is something we should’ve at least guessed was happening.
Despite the next Arrowverse crossover, "Elseworlds," being just under two months away, excitement is already reaching critical mass due to all of the teasers dropping as of late. Actually, this is to be expected because the monumental event is filming as we speak.
When I wrote my review for the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow season 4 premiere (you can read it here), I couldn't help expressing my curiosity for seeing what kind of mystical threats await the team beyond a unicorn possessing a taste for human flesh. And while the guest to follow may not end up being of the evil variety, we now have a better idea of what's on the horizon.
