When it was first disclosed that a new Emerald Archer would be prowling Star City in Arrow season 7, many heads - including my own - understandably turned toward Roy Harper. But after tuning in for this past Monday’s premiere, I’m not so sure anymore.
While we're still technically waiting on an official synopsis for the next major Arrowverse crossover, "Elseworlds," yesterday's reveal of the teaser poster told us so much about it by showing how Stephen Amell will play the Flash and Grant Gustin will likewise suit up as Green Arrow. When you think about it, the concept is quite ingenious in its simplicity, and is something we should've at least guessed was happening.
By now, I imagine that a fair amount of those reading this have had a chance to view the first episode of Titans. If so, you're probably well aware of how it's nowhere near as bad as some surmised it would be, as I've personally seen many praising it on social media. Still, any given piece of art is subject to criticism and likely won't receive universal praise, so it's recommended that you give the series a chance and make your own judgment.
After dazzling us all with one hell of a season premiere last week (you can check out our review here), you could say the sky's the limit for what The Flash can achieve in its fifth season. The hit DC show may have had its ups and downs just as any series does, sure, but I can't be the only one thinking it's once again managed to capture lightning in a bottle.
When Colton Haynes was confirmed to return to Arrow as a series regular this past spring, the fanbase likely thought a reunion involving the Dynamic Duo that is Green Arrow and Arsenal was a certainty, but Oliver Queen spending his days and nights in Supermax lockup sure put a damper on that.
To say that Dinah Drake and Earth-2's Laurel Lance have a complicated history is putting it mildly. If you'll recall, the latter killed the former's boyfriend, Vigilante, last season on Arrow, thus fanning the flames for one of Star City's most heated rivalries - and it's not like those two got along to begin with.
When it was revealed a few months back that Batwoman will be introduced in the next major Arrowverse crossover, the first place where many fans’ minds went was a possible instance of “shipping” involving Sara Lance and Kate Kane. But lo and behold, Legends of Tomorrow will be sitting this one out, so that knowledge doused said flame for the moment.
If you've been on the Supergirl bandwagon for some time, then you no doubt remember how its first season showed Superman only in silhouette, or gave glimpses of his boots while the rest of his figure lie off camera. Fortunately, Tyler Hoechlin suited up as the Last Son of Krypton at the top of the show's sophomore year, thus forcing us all to stop rolling our eyes whenever the character made a "cameo."
Right now, it's probably safe to say that each and every fan of Arrow knows Oliver Queen will still be behind bars when the new season picks up in just a few hours. And though the Emerald Archer will remain at the forefront of everyone's minds, it's only natural questions be raised regarding what his former cohorts are up to.
From the look of things, it shouldn't be much longer before The CW divulge plot details regarding this fall's major Arrowverse crossover, which has been intriguingly titled "Elseworlds." Set to introduce Ruby Rose as Batwoman and pay tribute to DC's line of books showcasing some of their biggest icons on radically different Earths in one fell swoop, whatever graces airwaves is sure to have us talking for months to follow.
