As long as these live-action remakes continue to make Disney a boatload of money at the box office, they're going to keep being produced. The public has already witnessed the reimagining of classics like Aladdin, Dumbo, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Pete's Dragon and more over the past few years, not to mention the upcoming Mulan, The Little Mermaid and The Lion King releases all on the horizon.
There are very few times during the movie Crawl where things go right for the human characters. In fact, the entire film is packed with ill-fated decisions and bad luck. In the end, however, all three of the protagonists end up thankfully getting saved. This wasn't always the case, though. In one of the original drafts for the flick, the plot gets considerably darker right when the crew is about to get rescued. Director Alexandre Aja revealed in a recent interview just how bad things were supposed to get for Haley, Dave and Sugar:
Not everyone is brave/dumb enough to want to go to the Area 51 raid this fall. Some will be more content sitting at home and not getting shot at by the Air Force. For those who plan to stay far away from the event yet want to still see what happens to those who decide to storm the top-secret facility, AREA15 has good news for you. The future Las Vegas entertainment complex has announced that they'll be live-streaming the event for all to see:
It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. A silly event entitled "Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us" popped up on Facebook earlier this month, encouraging people to meet up and storm the United States Air Force facility located in the Nevada Test and Training Range. The hope is that the sheer number of people would overwhelm those protecting it and finally reveal the long-rumored existence of aliens that is believed by some to be available at the site.
The Internet has not kept itself quiet when it comes to the casting decisions made for Disney's upcoming The Little Mermaid remake. The live-action adaptation has already endured a lot of drama this year, starting with the the potential casting of Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. Just when that controversy seemed to die down, a new one sprung up after Halle Bailey was cast in the titular role. Some people were outraged by the decision, some were more overjoyed and others were just downright confused.
Directors Anthony and Joe Russo know that there's no way that their film Avengers: Endgame could've ever become the highest-grossing movie of all-time without the help of the fans. That's precisely why the brothers are now giving back to their ardent supporters with a nationwide We Love You 3000 tour this summer. Special guests from Marvel Studios and the Marvel Cinematic Universe will join the dynamic duo in nine U.S. cities to show the masses their overwhelming gratitude.
Disney's next live-action project will reportedly revolve around the iconic chipmunk duo of Chip 'n' Dale, according to our sources. The characters will likely be rendered in CGI much like the Lion King remake that's about to hit theaters and though few details are currently known about the feature, it's probable that several high-profile actors and actresses will be tapped to play the voices behind the onscreen animals.
Bond 25 will easily be the most progressive installment of the franchise thus far. It's already been confirmed that Lashana Lynch will become the first black and female 007 in the history of the series. Additionally, "Bond girls" now also must be referred to as "Bond women" on set. And as if those changes weren't big enough for the series, the next film will reportedly deal with the titular character adjusting to a world after the #MeToo movement as well.
The James Bond franchise is finally getting with the times. After decades of blatant sexism, the series is now taking steps towards trying to be more inclusive. The next installment of the franchise is already set to be groundbreaking due to the inclusion of the first ever female and black 007 spy played by Lashana Lynch, but the changes don't stop there. Even when the camera aren't rolling, those involved are committed to making this next film the most inclusive one yet.
Scarlett Johansson drew the ire of plenty of fans recently after speaking out against her previous casting controversies. Now the actress is coming forward and claiming that her comments were taken out of context in order to draw more attention to the interview as a whole. In her own words:
