I was a big Kirby fan growing up: Kirby's Dreamland 2 on Game Boy is one of my all-time favorites, and my love of the series continued up through Super Star on the SNES and beyond. Aesthetics are important to me, and though I know some will disagree, the series' jump to polygonal 3D on Wii (albeit still with a side-scrolling perspective) was not a move that I found appealing in the least.
Is cloud gaming the future? It’s a complex question, with an overwhelming multitude of answers. Before the question can even be considered, however, it must be determined what exactly “cloud gaming” even means. Is OnLive cloud gaming? What about Sony’s Gaikai?
As a fan of the zombie genre, you should play How to Survive. It's as much a fight for your life as it is a campy undead romp, and despite any reservations about it being overly silly, there's a lot of great content to be experienced. As long as you don't expect to shed fervid tears or literally wet yourself in fright, you're unlikely to be disappointed.
Nintendo Direct! Those things are the best. I'm obviously a Nintendo fan at heart, but that doesn't change the fact that Big N's hilarious and informative periodic video streams have been known to make headlines from time to time. Who will host tomorrow's event? Will it be Reggie? Mr. Iwata? Ma' boy Bill Trinen? I get goosebumps just thinking about it (sorry if that's weird, Bill).
Boy oh boy, when I first heard about AquaPazza I was so excited. I wrote a bunch of posts about it, then I got sad because it was still a month away. But now it's only a week away! To get us revved up for the occasion, Atlus has put out a new "Team Tears to Tiara" trailer, which shows off some particular characters embracing their emotions and destroying each other with "trees that shoot lasers." Damn this looks awesome.
Remember that sweet Mirror Shield from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker? Did you ever find yourself wishing that your Mirror Shield could also double as, oh I don't know... a PlayStation 4? According to Sony's freshly minted PS4 unboxing video, devastating beams of light will be yours to command come the system's November 15th launch, which is in just four days from now.
Heard of Tiny Brains? You've probably heard of Tiny Wings. That game is awesome. This isn't Tiny Wings, though. It's Tiny Brains. Perhaps not coincidentally, it also looks awesome.
With the all the talk of how incredibly cool the Oculus Rift is, and how it's the future of gaming, and blah blah blah (don't mind me, I'm just jealous I haven't yet tried one), one has to wonder if any of the big three are secretly or not-so-secretly developing their own virtual reality offerings to be revealed down the line. Though a far cry from official confirmation, some recent patent filings from Sony seem to indicate (and affirm previous rumors) that the PlayStation 4 may one day have VR of its own.
Sometimes, confirmation of a new videogame title can be so obvious, that you consider the prospect of it being not obvious. Then, when you think about how absurd it would be for it to be not obvious, you think how surprised you'd be if said game that will obviously be announced were not obvious and you didn't see it coming. Then, you think about how ridiculous that is - obviously the obvious new game will be released without surprising you over the fact that hypothetically if it wasn't obvious you'd be surprised. Yeah, that's about how I feel right now.
A Dish Best Served Cold will remind you why you're still watching Grimm. Though not a perfect episode, it comes very close, delivering action, charm, and simultaneous advancement of the overarching plot, all while delivering a compelling weekly murder case. Not every episode of season 3 will be this good, but even if just a few of them are, Grimm may have it's best year yet.
