First Resistance 3 Multiplayer Footage
Today the internet has been graced with a cam recorded chunk of multiplayer gameplay from Insomniac’s third instalment in the Resistance franchise. The footage appears to show off a fairly standard team deathmatch mode and looks noticeably prettier than its predecessor - as this is going to be another PS3 exclusive, Sony are no doubt hoping it will bring over more gamers to their console. Recently analysts have been suggesting that Sony’s console has actually overtaken Microsoft’s Xbox 360 in terms of worldwide sales because of the rising PS3 dominance in Asia and Europe.

Crytek Prepare To Pound Crysis 2 Cheaters
Recently launched uber-FPS Crysis 2, aside from experiencing a cluster of online issues, has been abused by the folks who think it’s funny to have a 40000000000 kill to death ratio, or casually wander around maps and pick players off who have been frozen in their spawns. Most call them cheaters, and idiots.

This year we are set to be bombarded once again by a whole foray of similar looking games, with each development studio having their own ‘ground breaking’ twist of either some sort of war-like FPS, save the world action adventure, or ‘immersive RPG life-sucker’. Obviously they are all going to be received in very different ways and appeal to slightly different audiences each time, but yet the adverts that bamboozle our eyes often present these games in an almost identical fashion to their competitors. Do they not even look at their rivals?

Duke Nukem Forever Once Again Suffers Delay
Maybe ‘suffers’ is a little unfair considering games are usually polished up during the period of not-being-released-keep-fans-waiting-indefinitely. Except here we actually have a date instead of some vague mumblings about ‘summer’, June 10th/14th (international) is the new detonation time for Duke Nukem Forever. I guess that Duke-dedicated drum roll is going to have to hold on a little be longer eh?

Crysis 2 Console Conflict Dismissed
The past week or so has been full of gossip and argument concerning Crytek’s new FPS beast Crysis 2. Magazines and critics across Europe and North America have been noting discrepancies between the PS3 and 360 console versions, many claiming that the 360 edition is clearly superior.

Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, Brand New Trailer
A brand new trailer for Ratchet and Clank’s crazy co-operative conundrum of captivating colours has been released today, with a cheesy voice over attempting to set the scene (and doing a slightly better job than the guy who did the trailers for Crysis 2), for the whimsical story. Insomniac are taking a creative turn here with the traditional R&C adventure and hopefully it will be one that pays off, after all, could you bring yourself to admit it was rubbish?

UK Release Date Confirmed For Motorstorm Apocalypse
After being temporarily delayed following the disasters in Japan, Motorstorm Apocalypse will be skidding onto shelves on March 31st. Evolution studios have been working hard on polishing this latest iteration in the Motorstorm franchise, promising some of the strongest 3D gaming the Playstation 3 can offer.

The Pre Ordering Craze – Are We Really That Eager?
I don’t know exactly when this happened, but with every new game that is announced now there seems to be a flashy pre-order advert bamboozling your eyes with confusing paragraphs of money making evil-ness. Well not always evil –ness, but largely just asking for more money before the game is even out.

Homefront Sits On Top Of UK Charts
THQ were being very ambitious with Homefront considering how oversaturated the military FPS genre is at the moment (are developers taking themselves too seriously this generation?), and the bold and brave submission into the warzone is appearing to stand its ground rather well. At least in the UK this week, which might not mean very much considering it came out last week...hmm.
