Though he was snubbed by the Academy earlier this morning, Ridley Scott is still riding pretty high right now, given all the success that his latest effort, The Martin, is seeing. And while he would certainly be entitled to a break at this time, to just sit back and relax, the director is doing no such thing. Instead, he's jumping head first into his next film, which will be Alien: Covenant.
It looks as if the upcoming Jumanji reboot from Sony has now found a director in the form of Jake Kasdan, who you may remember from R-rated comedies like Bad Teacher and Sex Tape. No word on a cast just yet, but the filmmaker will be working from a script by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinker, who touched up Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers' original draft.
The CW has released an extended version of the promo for the midseason premiere of Arrow, and it offers up some very interesting clues about what's to come for Felicity after she was gunned down by Damien Darhk's goons in the finale. Will she, like some fans have speculated, end up taking on a similar role to Batman sidekick Oracle? (for those of you who aren't aware, she used to be Batgirl before being paralysed and becoming the Caped Crusader's tech support).
We're now just one week away now from the series premiere of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, and it's going to be an epic five days for DC Comics fans. Dubbed #DCWeek by Warner Bros., Arrow and The Flash will also be returning along with a special featuring a new look at Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, a Wonder Woman preview, and the first Suicide Squad trailer since Comic-Con last year.
Frank Miller didn't create Daredevil, but he's widely hailed as the man responsible for turning things around for the Man Without Fear, and his influence on season one of Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil was clear to see. One character who was thought up by The Dark Knight Returns scribe however is Elektra, and he recently caused some controversy by stating that Elodie Yung's version is not the real deal.
Fantastic Four was perhaps the biggest flop of 2015, and now Creed star Michael B. Jordan has talked in detail about the reboot and exactly why it all went so horribly wrong. Asked to reflect on the experience of shooting Fantastic Four, Jordan did his best to diplomatically weigh in on what it was like to go through such a difficult shoot and the backlash which followed.
It's still kind of hard to believe that Wonder Woman is actually happening, but with shooting underway and a 2017 release date officially set, the Amazonian warrior is finally about to get the big screen treatment she deserves. While we'll first meet Gal Gadot's Diana Prince in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, her solo outing features a great supporting cast, including Star Trek's Chris Pine as love interest/sidekick Steve Trevor.
Both Marvel and DC are developing workplace comedies focusing on a very different part of their respective comic book universes, and Powerless is set to take place in an insurance agency where the employees deal with the destruction left behind by the world's superheroes. Talking at the Television Critics Association press tour today, NBC executives Robert Greenblatt and Jennifer Salke revealed some new details about what we should expect from the upcoming series.
Even if Deadpool doesn't end up living up to expectations, Fox definitely deserves credit for one of the most unique marketing campaigns in recent memory. With that in mind, you may remember that some very cool emojis were released for smartphone users last year as part of #12DaysToDeadpool, and now a new billboard for the movie has put those to great use (as you can see above).
Agent Carter doesn't return until next week, but Marvel and ABC have already released the first official images from the third episode. They don't exactly reveal a lot of plot spoilers, but we do at least get a first look at Wynn Everett as Madame Masque (albeit without the mask). While she looks great here, it would still be a pretty major disappointment if the series doesn't have her suit up like her comic book counterpart at some point in season two.
