Oscar Isaac is already recognised as one of the best actors out there right now after incredible performances in movies like A Most Violent Year and Ex Machina, but his career looks set to reach another level after starring in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and X-Men: Apocalypse.
The Star Wars: The Force Awakens world premiere takes place in Los Angeles this evening, and if you're planning on avoiding spoilers before the movie is released on Thursday at midnight, you'd best start shutting down your social media accounts now. For a little while, it appeared as if Marvel's Iron Fist series might not happen on Netflix, but now that it's finally found a showrunner, things are beginning to move along nicely. The character's live-action debut is long overdue, and fans have a lot to say about who should be cast in the role. Interestingly, many believe that an Asian American actor should be chosen to play Iron Fist.
Doctor Strange has been shooting for a while now, but it only today was it revealed that the movie has landed a new writer. Sinister scribe C. This week saw the long overdue release of the first trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse (which you can see above). The first footage from Bryan Singer-directed movie premiered at this year's San Diego Comic-Con back in July, and after leaking onto the web, fans were left wondering if Fox would follow it up with an official version like Warner Bros. did with Suicide Squad. Unfortunately, though, that didn't happen.

Ridley Scott is hard at work on his highly-anticipated Prometheus sequel, which is titled Alien: Covenant. The director has spoken quite a bit about the film in recent interviews and it seems like the plan is to make sure the story has a more direct connection to Alien.
With just days - DAYS! - to go until the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a brand new motion poster has been unveiled for the movie which puts the spotlight on the villainous Kylo Ren. Little is known about the character right now, but speculation continues to run rampant that he may have a very famous surname (Ren is actually a title given to him because of his allegiance with the mysterious Knights of Ren).
Seemingly out of nowhere, FOX debuted the very first trailer for Roland Emmerich's Independence Day: Resurgence. Following in the footsteps of the 1996 original, the sequel seems to have a pretty similar premise. From what we can tell, the aliens are back and this time they've got better weapons and tech to aid in their invasion.
Lucasfilm and Disney are currently hard at work on the upcoming Han Solo Anthology film, which is due to hit theatres on May 25th, 2018. We don't really know very much about it just yet, but apparently over 2,500 actors have auditioned for the lead role in the Star Wars spinoff and the studios are close to finding their man.
