Captain America: Civil War is by far one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2016, and looks set to be perhaps the biggest one, too (sorry, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice). As the first film in Marvel's Phase 3, it's going to set the stage for everything to come, as Captain America and Iron Man go to war and the Avengers are divided.
According to a new report, a Watchmen TV series may be in the works at HBO, the cable network responsible for shows like Game of Thrones and True Detective. Zack Snyder originally adapted the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons comic book back in 2009, and while fans loved it, critics were divided and it didn't make the biggest of impacts at the box office.
When Terminator Genisys was announced, the plan was for it to be the first in a trilogy of new Terminator movies. With Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) at the helm and a cast which included the returning Arnold Schwarzenegger alongside the likes of Jason Clarke and Emilia Clarke, it was hard to see how it could possibly go wrong, but that soon changed when the first trailer was released. The fact that the second one spoiled a major plot twist certainly didn't help matters, and the reviews which later followed were pretty brutal.
The first season of True Detective was helmed solely by Cary Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation), but with him and series creator/writer Nic Pizzolatto parting ways over what has been rumoured to be a pretty major falling out, a number of different film and television directors were brought in for season two. Many are names you likely will have never heard of, but some - Justin Lin (Fast Five) and John Crowley (Boy A) for example - definitely stood out.
There's been a lot of conflicting reports about what's in store for Superman in the DC Extended Universe, with some saying Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is essentially Man of Steel 2 and others claiming that when Man of Steel didn't make the $1 billion Warner Bros. were hoping for, they cooled down on the idea of more solo adventures for the iconic hero.
There's less than a week to go until The Flash returns to The CW, and the first brief clip from the season premiere has surfaced today which focuses on an exchange between Iris West and her father Joe.
While we all wait for the final trailer for Spectre, Sony has released an action-packed TV spot today that's sure to whet your appetite for the highly anticipated follow-up to Skyfall.
For a very long time, it didn't appear as if Deadpool was ever going to happen. After completely dropping the ball on the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Fox were for some reason reluctant to pull the trigger on the Merc with the Mouth getting his own movie, and the more Ryan Reynolds talked about it as years passed, the less likely it seemed it was ever going to happen.
There's been talk for years about a Blade Runner sequel, but it's now finally happening with Denis Villeneuve at the helm. The first movie's director Sir Ridley Scott is obviously going to produce (he's far too busy with Prometheus sequel Alien: Paradise Lostto take the helm), and during the promotional tour for The Martian, he's shed some light on what we should expect from the follow-up.
