It's not like we need anymore proof that Marvel has another mega hit on their hands with James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The first film was an absolute home run for the studio and with everyone returning for more, chances were always pretty good that the sequel could match its predecessor. Now, as the marketing campaign continues on in full swing, it's looking very possible that Vol. 2 may actually surpass the original.
One of the most controversial aspects of The New 52 reboot was the fact that many fan-favourite characters were missing from the DC Universe. Many of them are now starting to return thanks to DC Rebirth, and while Booster Gold was present sporadically after the events of Flashpoint, he hasn't actually been seen for a while now.
The CW has released a new batch of preview images for Arrow, and in them, we get to see what appears to be a very different sort of adventure for the team. With gun runners making their presence felt in Star City, it looks like it will be Wild Dog who steps up to try and save the day as Oliver Queen finds himself busy with his mayoral duties.
You don't need us to tell you that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was a very divisive film, but it's fair to say that it was visually stunning (well, apart from whatever was going on with Doomsday). That sort of thing is something Zack Snyder has never struggled with, a fact which is evident from the impressive VFX reel above.
Marvel Studios never expected Baby Groot to be so massively popular. Following his brief appearance at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy back in 2014, they were suddenly met with a huge demand for toys and merchandise based on the character, and while some followed, they really missed a trick by not getting the goods into stores sooner.
It's been a very busy couple of weeks for Warner Bros.' The Batman. Ever since Ben Affleck announced that he'd be departing the director's chair, which was fairly shocking, all anyone can talk about is who's going to replace him and what exactly's going on behind the scenes. Clearly, there's some trouble brewing on the project and speculation has been running rampant, with reports stating that the studio is looking to start from scratch and, most surprising of all, Affleck may not even remain on board to star.
With Game of Thrones coming to an end soon, the cast is going to have a lot of free time on their hands, and most of them will probably start looking to increase their presence on the big screen. We've already seen many of them land sizeable roles in high profile films, but once HBO's hit series is off the air, they'll have a lot more openings in their schedules.
In the promo for the next episode of Supergirl, it was heavily teased that Lex Luthor would finally be making an appearance in The CW series. Unfortunately, we now know that's not the case as a new batch of images reveal that it's actually her mother Lena is visiting. However, with Metallo set to break the CADMUS leader out, Lex may still have some company behind bars!
It could be argued that out of the three main Harry Potter stars, Daniel Radcliffe has done the best for himself since the iconic franchise came to an end. Rupert Grint has all but dropped off the map, and while Emma Watson continues to impress and will soon be seen in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, it's Radcliffe who's excelled the furthest, continuing to tackle roles that are lightyears away from the Boy Who Lived.
By this point, we all know that Ben Affleck will no longer direct The Batman for Warner Bros. That much is certain, as the actor announced it last week and shocked us all. What we still don't know, however, is just what went down behind the scenes that led to this. From rumors of the script not being in proper shape to Affleck not wanting to have to deal with the pressure of both starring and directing, everyone's got their theories.
