That Voltron guy, he can throw a helluva party. There's hot chicks, video games, people in fancy costumes and even Seth Green showed up!
All of this was to commemorate the launch of the Voltron: Defender of the Universe game on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network this week.
You may or may not have heard, but there's a new Voltron game out on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network and it's not bad. THQ is throwing a launch party to commemorate, and you're all invited.
My rule of thumb with games based on old cartoons are usually best avoided. Though, when I heard there was a game coming out from my favorite childhood cartoon, Voltron, I couldn't help but be a little curious. I'm happy to report that while I'm not disappointed, I'm not blown away either.
Admittedly I've always been more on the Sith side of things when it comes to the Star Wars universe. They have way more fun. And they can shoot lightning out of their hands. LIGHTNING! However this new trailer showing off the abilities of a Jedi Consular make switching to the light side a bit more tempting.

Haven't we all had the desire to have a ninja in our pocket? No? Just me? Well that kicks the crud outta my lead. Ninja Gaiden is hitting Sony's newest handheld in February (in Japan at least). Japanese gaming mag Famitsu reports that Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus is coming to the PlayStation Vita early next year. It will feature Ninja Gaiden III's Hero Mode, which takes all the fun out of playing a game as difficult as Ninja Gaiden by allowing Ryu to perform auto-block and auto-dodge.
It seems the video game industry just can't keep video games secret anymore. First a supposed sequel to Dante's Inferno was rumored by a listing on a writer's personal website, then a supposed Sony crossover brawler was revealed because a designer was too darn excited, and now we might have a new Resident Evil on our hands.
You know, funny thing, I was just thinking that Final Fantasy is severely lacking in Assassin's Creed references. Okay I wasn't thinking that at all, but that very thought is going to be a reality now. Ezio has made it from games to Metal Gear Solid to Soul Calibur, and he'll now find a way into upcoming Final Fantasy XIII-2, if only as a downloadable costume.
Last month, a neat new firmware update coming to the 3DS was detailed at a Nintendo press event. It was initially supposed to find its way onto our handhelds by the end of November, but it's now been slightly delayed.
The upcoming title, Rainbow 6: Patriots, was announced recently to great reception. The squad-based shooter has seen a lot of success this generation, with two titles released under the Rainbow Six: Vegas moniker. Now, it seems like the first details on the upcoming game have surfaced.
