Latest ‘Star Wars’ News: Trending ‘Star Wars’ icon has fans fearing the worst as ‘Jedi: Survivor’ gets first round of game saving patches

In great news for Star Wars gamers, Respawn Entertainment’s recent Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is already being patched. The game was released late last week and a plethora of technical problems dropped what should have been a near perfect score to one much lower. Hopefully players can get back to saving the galaxy with the first round of patches, and if not gamers will just have to test out their Jedi patience while they wait.

Meanwhile, if they need a burst for dopamine, Mark Hamill has them covered. The actor shared an adorable montage of behind-the-scenes shots in honor of the limited rerelease of Return of the Jedi, and the clips are sweet enough to put a smile on anyone’s face. James Earl Jones was trending this weekend, and fans immediately assumed it was time to say goodbye to the near centenarian. It turns out Jones is still popular, and just because an older celebrity is trending doesn’t necessarily mean it’s time to whip out the black. Jones isn’t the only Star Wars icon presumed dead but still kicking: One The Book of Boba Fett baddie formerly thought to be KIA turns out to be alive somewhere out there in the ‘verse, and it’s a move we’re firmly blaming on Dave Filoni.

Somehow, Cade Bane returned

It just wouldn’t be Dave Filoni’s Star Wars if a character didn’t miraculously survive the un-survivable. The director decided back in 2008 that some bad guys are too cool to let go when he had Darth Maul survive a literal bisection. Filoni is apparently back at it again with the news that Cad Bane is the latest baddie to somehow survive a deathblow. According to the latest Star Wars guide and history book, Bane is listed as “out of action.” The book includes the final showdown between Bane and Boba Fett so it’s not that it’s out of date. Since these supposedly dead, revived characters tend to make spectacular Star Wars comebacks, it’s probably only a matter of time before the bounty hunter returns. Who knows, maybe he will follow in Fett’s footsteps and try to make amends for his dastardly way of life.

Relax everyone, James Earl Jones can trend if he wants to

A recent trending tag for the man behind Darth Vader’s iconic voice had Star Wars fans fearing the worst on Sunday. James Earl Jones’s name started trending (days before May the fourth) not due to anything befalling the beloved actor, but due to a simple Twitter poll. The innocuous survey just wanted to know which iconic voice would make for the best biopic narrator, so naturally James Earl Jones was on the list. Fans breathed a collective sigh of relief when the poll was revealed to be the culprit, with more than one asking the algorithm-overlords not to do their anxiety so dirty. Jones is still in fine health, though the actor did celebrate his 92 birthday this year. Its not the first time the Hollywood icon has spiked fan blood pressure by mysteriously trending, so maybe fans need to start working on healthy coping mechanisms before the sad news inevitably comes.

Mark Hamill continues to be the one of the most wholesome parts of Twitter

Just when you thought you couldn’t love Return of the Jedi anymore, Mark Hamill dropped an adorable set of behind-the-scenes shots to reignite the flame of passion for a film released forty years ago. In honor of the limited theatrical release for the film, Hamill shared the clip to his Twitter account. It’ll bring a smile to your face to see the baby-faced actors we all know and love in the triumphant finale of the original trilogy, especially since the candid shots show just how much fun the group had bringing the film to life.

After an incredibly rough launch for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor last week, Respawn Entertainment spent the weekend rushing through a patch for the highly anticipated game. Critics and fans agreed that, while the gameplay was fun, the constant lag, abundant crashes and weird glitches severely damped the joy fans felt for the title. The patch is being released on steam today, and if you want a full rundown of all the things the studio has tried to fix in this round of patches we have all the details here.
