An alleged biting incident involving Cobra Kai co-stars Alicia Hannah-Kim (season 6) and Martin Kove at a fan convention in Washington over the weekend has been revealed, with new body camera footage showing what happened during the confrontation. The event occurred at Summer Con on Sunday, June 22. The footage, obtained from the Puyallup Police Department, showed the cast members outside the venue talking to a police officer about the situation.
As found by People, during the conversation, a police officer told the 78-year-old Kove that biting someone is not acceptable behavior and stressed that it counts as assault. Hannah-Kim, then shouted “That is assault!” The officer then explained to Kove that whether charges were filed for the alleged biting was entirely up to Hannah-Kim.
Kove apologized, saying he had been playing around, thinking their usual friendly interactions made it okay, and admitted he had bitten her too hard. Hannah-Kim looked at the officer with clear shock as the officer pointed out a visible mark on her arm, repeating that what Kove did was very wrong.

Hannah-Kim firmly stated that their relationship did not include that kind of playful behavior. She wanted witnesses to know that she and Kove were professional coworkers, not people who engaged in physical play like that. She called his actions completely inappropriate, especially his apparent anger when she told him to stop biting her. Hannah-Kim explained that their professional interactions involved handshakes and taking photos together, showing they had a friendly working relationship, but she had never bitten him.
She also said that biting is a serious offense, which is why she called the police, and pointed out that Kove seemed surprised that he had done anything wrong. The actress also told Kove that the situation could have been over if he had just apologized and admitted his mistake from the start. Kove responded by saying he felt ashamed of his actions and understood how serious the situation was.
Hannah-Kim then said the only reason she did not physically respond was because Kove is an older man, and she respects her elders. She made it clear she would not cross that line, implying that if he had been younger, she might have reacted differently.
Later in the footage, Hannah-Kim, who had asked to speak privately, told the officer she did not want to cause a major public relations problem, mainly because they both worked on the same TV show. She asked what would happen if she pressed charges, specifically whether it would lead to Kove being arrested and put in jail. She then added that, given his age, that kind of outcome could be bad for his health, and she did not want to put him through that.
A police report, which was also obtained, detailed the accusations against Kove. It claimed that Kove had grabbed Hannah-Kim’s arm and bitten it so hard it nearly drew blood, making her yell in pain. The report also said Kove then grabbed her arm again and kissed the spot where he had bitten her. After Hannah-Kim and her husband confronted Kove about what happened, he reportedly became upset, insisting he had done nothing wrong, which led to the police being called. When questioned by an officer, Kove admitted to biting Hannah-Kim but said he was just joking.
He said he thought he was being funny and that this kind of “play fighting” often happened on the set of Cobra Kai, which can get personal. This suggested that he did not think the incident was a big deal. In the end, Hannah-Kim decided not to press charges against Kove. However, she did ask for an official report to be filed privately as a precaution in case anything similar happened in the future.
