Evil Batman Goes Guns Blazing In Upcoming Grim Knight One-Shot

If you thought that Dark Nights: Metal had introduced us to every corrupted version of Batman in the multiverse, then you were most definitely wrong. Proving that he has an endless supply of aces up his sleeve, superstar scribe Scott Snyder acquainted us with a new take on the Masked Manhunter a few weeks back in The Batman Who Laughs #1 - and he has a little more in common with Frank Castle than the Bruce Wayne we've come to love.

Well, that comparison isn’t entirely accurate because the Punisher does have a moral code. It’s just that seeing a Batman who digs guns to such an extreme is a little hard to wrap one’s head around. Then again, that’s what’s beautiful about playing around with alternate realities.

As it turns out, The Batman Who Laughs miniseries will take the month of March off, but that doesn’t mean those on board with the title will have to wait long for new content. Instead, DC intends on shipping a one-shot titled The Batman Who Laughs: The Grim Knight during that time, which’ll detail the background of this mysterious and deadly fellow. And what’s more is that we can give you a look at Jock’s badass cover art below.

When it comes to the rest of the creative team, know that James Tynion IV (Detective Comics) will assist Snyder on scripting duties, and that interior art will be provided by Eduardo Risso (Batman: Broken City). If that weren’t enough, Gabriele Dell’Otto has been hired to draw the variant cover, so you know that’s going to look quite stunning.

For more info, be sure to check out the official synopsis:

Ripped from Batman’s greatest nightmares, the Grim Knight is his world’s most dangerous vigilante, unafraid to use any weapon and go to any lengths to stop those whom he deems worthy of death. Trained with the finest arsenal Wayne money can buy, learn the secret origin of the second-deadliest Batman, hand selected by the Batman Who Laughs to bring his dark plans to fruition. This one-shot has a big 28-page story!

The Batman Who Laughs: The Grim Knight #1 arrives in comic shops on March 13th.
