Exclusive Preview: Legacy Concludes In Justice League #31

Maybe you haven't heard, but there's this little film called Justice League debuting in theaters next month. Uniting the likes of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Flash and Cyborg on the big screen for the very first time, it'll probably sell quite a few tickets based on that premise alone. Really, it's no wonder social media went crazy when the latest trailer dropped.

Having said that, it’s rather fortunate for DC that the super group’s comic book lineup pretty much mirrors what’ll be seen in cinemas, only we also have Mera and Green Lanterns Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz thrown in for good measure. Honestly, it’s hard to imagine there not being a ringslinger in the mix, and that’s an element writer Bryan Hitch hasn’t thus far neglected.

Speaking of which, Hitch will be bringing his “Legacy” arc to a close with the next issue – and soon his run on the title – thus allowing for curious moviegoers to jump on board soon enough. Still, we won’t get too ahead of ourselves, and will continue discussing the story he’s spent time developing.

What’s been intriguing about this particular arc is that it saw the Justice League meet their children from the future. Granted, future times are always malleable in comic books, but that hasn’t removed the sizzle from this tale. Personally, as a fan of concepts like the Damian Wayne Batman, I really dig stuff like this. So, if you find yourself in the same boat, perhaps you should also check out the conclusion to “Legacy.”

Here’s the official synopsis to further entice you:

“LEGACY” finale! The truth about Sovereign is revealed—and her identity will shake the Justice League to its core! The Darkness is out of control and if the Justice League and their future children don’t triumph over its evil, it will mean the end of everything, everywhere, forever.

Justice League #31 arrives in comic shops next Wednesday, October 18.
