Martin Garrix - Forbidden Voices
Stepping away from his big room bangers, Martin Garrix gave fans a free track in February in the form of "Forbidden Voices," a more melodic, progressive and lighter song than what we're used to hearing from him.
And while some may complain about that, we don't see it as a problem. With a distorted vocal sample and a super catchy melody, it's hard not to get swept up in the DJ's latest effort. And, if nothing else, Forbidden Voices just shows us once again that Garrix's talents as a producer extend beyond just main stage bangers.Jenaux Feat. Pia Toscano - Renegades
Making his debut on Enhanced Music in February was Jenaux. For "Renegades," he recruited American Idol contestant Pia Toscano to craft an anthemic, progressive track that hits hard and fast.
Infused with an electro drop reminiscent of Zedd, and some tight production throughout, "Renegades" is a promising piece of work from the young producer and a sign that he's definitely one to watch out for this year.Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano - Come Follow
As one of the Dutch duo's best tracks yet, the progressive house gem "Come Follow" is an emotional and powerful song, and a nice change of pace from some of SJ & RM's more big room-oriented material.
Boasting beautiful piano chords, easy to sing-along with lyrics and a hard-hitting breakdown, this track isn't just one of February 2015's best, but it's also one of the most impressive pieces of work yet from Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano.Zeds Dead & Oliver Heldens - You Know
Sporting Oliver Heldens’ signature bass line mixed with a bouncy beat and drowned out, sampled vocals, this incredibly catchy future/deep house track had us dancing all throughout the month.
Admittedly, "You Know" is more a Heldens track than it is something out of Zeds Dead's wheelhouse, but the influence of both producers is still strongly felt on the song, resulting in an excellent collaboration.Jack Ü Feat. Kiesza - Take Ü There (Missy Elliott Remix)
"Take Ü There" was already a huge track to begin with, but when Missy Elliott hopped on it to lay down a few bars, it got even bigger. The rap icon spits fire on this remix of Jack Ü's first single and absolutely nails it out of the park, delivering some fierce lyrics and giving the song a bit more of a punch.
While it's hard to call it the best remix of "Take Ü There" that we've heard, it's a solid effort from Elliott and marks a welcome return for her after disappearing from the spotlight for what seems like far too long.Galantis - Gold Dust
It seems that everything Galantis touches turns to gold, and their recent single, the aptly titled "Gold Dust," only serves as further proof of that.
An emotional vocal is laid on top of some beautiful piano chords that suck us in as the song slowly builds up. Though it takes a while to get going, when the drop finally comes, "Gold Dust" breaks out into a euphoric burst of energy with an infectious melody that will send shivers down your spine.Zedd Feat. When Zedd announced that he would be collaborating with Selena Gomez for his next track, we all knew that we'd be in for a real treat. Mixing the DJ's masterful and exciting production with the pop star's beautiful vocals was the perfect recipe for a killer song, and that's exactly what we got.
Already breaking records, "I Want You To Know" took the charts, and internet, by storm shortly after its end of February release. And the hype and praise isn't unwarranted, either. A synth beat and Selena’s familiar voice ease us into the song as it slowly builds to an unmistakable Zedd drop, which then transitions the track into a surefire main stage hit that will have festival-goers dancing until the sun goes down. Admittedly, I didn't immediately fall in love with "Cool," but shortly after its BBC Radio 1 premiere, it really started to grow on me. With its catchy synth beat and beautiful piano-based melody, it makes for another uplifting, progressive house club anthem that is sure to be a big crossover hit for the DJ.
It also marks another winner for Alesso, who's on a roll now what with "Heroes (we could be)" and "Tear The Roof Up." If these tracks are any indication of how his debut album will turn out, then we're in for something real special.Madeon Feat. Passion Pit - Pay No Mind
French Wunderkind Madeon is gearing up to release his debut album at the end of March and our excitement for it is through the roof. All of the singles that he's dropped so far have been fantastic and his latest effort, "Pay No Mind," certainly ranks amongst the young producer's best work yet.
With a bubbly energy coursing throughout the song, and infectious vocal work from Passion Pit lead singer Michael Angelakos, "Pay No Mind" is a fun, upbeat tune that's completely addicting and perfect for those upcoming summer months.Jack Ü Feat. Justin Bieber - Where Are Ü Now
When Jack Ü fans heard that Justin Bieber was hopping on a track for the duo's upcoming album, there was an understandably large amount of skepticism. Thankfully, we had nothing to worry about, as "Where Are Ü Now" turned out to be on of the disc's best track and most pleasant surprises.
The pop sensation's smooth vocals mesh well with Diplo and Skrillex's exotic beat, culminating in a catchy ballad that sports top-notch production throughout. While we enjoyed "To Ü" and "Mind" a bit better, Bieber's cut makes this list over those two since it genuinely surprised us and once again showed everyone that this immensely talented duo could work with just about anyone and make it sound good.
