10 Characters We’d Love To See As DLC In Injustice 2

Unless you've been hiding under a rock or playing exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, you should know that Injustice 2 dropped on May 16th – and it's one of the best fighting video games in a long, long time. In my fellow colleague's review of it, he described how "its feature set is among the best in the genre, and there's plenty of reasons to keep playing even after the story ends." Yip, that's a pretty good summary of how we feel about it.

John Constantine

Blimey, mate, where’s John Constantine in a fighting game when you need him? We all know he’s pure magic, and provides some much-needed snark and cynicism to the situation, so his omission is a bit of a bummer, really.

He’s easily one of the most recognizable comic book characters of DC/Vertigo, but he still can’t catch a break in other mediums. Hopefully, a role in a future Fighter Pack could help ease the pain of his live-action TV series being cancelled and the horrid video game adaptation of 2005’s Constantine film.

Here’s holding thumbs that there’s a Justice League Dark DLC in the pipeline, with the notorious Hellblazer in it. Moreover, if it’s happening, let’s get Matt Ryan to drop on by and provide the voice for the character again. After all, he’s become to Constantine what Kevin Conroy is to Batman.

Midnighter

If he appears, the brutal vigilante known as Midnighter could easily be the Punisher of Injustice 2. Effective, methodical, and extremely violent, this is one “hero” that you don’t want to meet in a dark alley in the middle of the night (or even day).

One of Midnighter’s defining characteristics is the ability to predict a battle before it even happens. Now, imagine if this becomes a gameplay feature where he sees an attack before it’s launched and can dodge or counter it? That would make him an invaluable brawler, especially when battling against extreme powerhouses like Superman and Aquaman.

While Batman prefers to not kill his enemies, Midnighter doesn’t give a damn about the damage he causes to his foes. This makes him an extremely lethal and unhinged adversary for anyone to face. Maybe he’s the picture-perfect ally for Injustice Superman?
